*ducks* What can I fit on 14" 4-lug FC rims?

I've searched, and haven't found any terms that will give me information on tires fitting 14" FC rims - if there's a huge thread on it I'm missing, feel free to point me there (the FC wheel thread didn't have much on 14s that I could find - 88 pages is a bit much).

I have an 88SE, with the 4 lug suspension. I've found someone with another set of 14" wheels they're giving me.

Stock size is 185/70/14. What can I fit? I've been looking at some 195/65/14 tires on Tire Rack, which I assume will fit decently.

The car is mostly used for a mix of summer highway cruising and autocross (hopefully with some track days soon). Winter driving isn't an issue - that's what my Subaru is for.

I was looking at these for a set: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=2
Thoughts/suggestions/search terms?

Another common size for a lot of 14" wheels are 195/60/14, which should give you a little less sidewall. Tirerack offers that tire in that size that you posted as well, as well as others that you might want to take a look at. I know Falken Azenis as well as other high performance tires were offered in that size as well.

A slightly smaller tire diameter should help autocross performance/acceleration, right?

Will I have any problems fitting the 195s onto the stock 5.5" wide tire?

those 14's are skinnny mini! I had a set for a while on my 240sx (had to bore them out to fit the nissan) and man they were great for fuel economy... but I dont think you will have too much fun autox'ing on them unless your car is down to superlightweight status like 2100 pounds or so.

you can find diamond racing wheels for cheap in 15" sizes, wide too, online from them directly or used on a lot of scca / autox / car forums. like a 15x8 or 15x9, hell even a 15x7.5 would be better than those 14" wheels.

oh yeah you might be able to find some used nissan 240sx wheels or mustang wheels that are 4 lug and for free or cheap enough,, I mean hey if youre gonna buy brand new performance tires to have fun on, you might as well spend $50 or so on some used but wider wheels.
