safc on a s4

well i am getting ready to get a safc for my 88 se. i have been reading that i should use the pressure sensor instead of the tps. is there anything special that i need to do in order to do that? i have been searching but havent come up with anything really usefull. also is there anything else that i need to know when installing it? thanks in advance for the help.

dont splice the wires near the connectors. give plenty of room to work with. as for the tps/pressor sensor issue i installed it on the tps and it works fine for me.

Install it on the boost/pressure sensor. Then the SAFC is responding to what matters, manifold pressure, and ignoring what doesn't matter (throttle position).

At low RPMs, you can be at full manifold pressure with only 20-30% throttle opening. At high RPM, you may actually be dropping off full pressure due to instake restrictions.

With the SAFC connected to the boost sensor, it's working based on that, and you can tune based on engine load.

I'd suggest learning a good bit about engine tuning & theory. It's very helpful when tuning it.

You can tune for good power using the TPS signal on an S4, but you will be wasting some fuel during normal mid & low power driving.
