Super AFC SAFC Knock Reading
SAFC Knock Reading
Does anyone know what those numbers mean? In other words, at idle i usually get between 10 and 20 when i first start my car and after 30 minutes of normal highway driving the knock reads in the 50s and sometimes 60s. Should i be worried?
I don't KNOW....but that never stopped me from posting before. So.....if installed right, it is counting the number of times the Knock Sensor saw *knock*. If your on a bumpy road, you'll see it rack up a good count just from the bumps in the road.
Next time your idling your car, get a hammer out and strike the housing near the knock sensor. Got a count, right????
When the knock sensor in the ECU sees knock, it retards the ignition for a moment. That's all I know about knock sensors and the count on the SAFC. Retards ignition. I gave up looking at it, myself.
Knock is pinging or predetonation. Not good for apex seals. But then again, are you REALLY seeing knock when the SAFC/KNOCK sensor gives a count? I think a lot of the count is really just
