MAP sensor instead of AFM?

Well read about using the map sensor instead of tps, but was wondering if something simlar can be done instead of using AFM? I now megesquirt uses map and rpm for few maps.. wondering if something simalar can be done with safc II.

Any information greatly aprecieated, why it wouldn't work, why is would.. etc..

Thanks

I am by no means an expert in this area, but from what I understand, the stock ECU requires the AFM for its signal. There is no known (read: reasonably cheap) way to convert the signal sent by the AFM to a signal sent by a MAP sensor instead and be received by the stock ECU properly.

Only stand alone EFI computers will give you the luxury of swapping to a MAP sensor. Piggyback units will not allow such a conversion.

Hehe yea, just had a chat on the rx7club irc channel.. I was under the impressiont that SAFC could make fuel maps based on rpm/map.. but he explained to me that it only changes out from input.. ie votage %... So I guess my idea of having a map input connect to the SAFC then have fuel map based on MAP/RPM with output votage 0-5 such as the AFM.. but I guess not.. thanks.
