Super AFC how can you tell if an engine is an 88 to 89 in an FC??

how can you tell if an engine is an 88 to 89 in an FC??
I bought this FC and the previews owner told me that he had swapped the S5 engine from an S4... I couldnt tell the difference and maybe you could
