Why do you think you need it? You got some mods on your NA? Running rich/lean? Some different injectors? Or you just like to throw money at your car?

Take that 300$ and save up for a turbo. (my opinion)

well i didn't pay $300 for it (try looking for a used one or one on ebay), but for me i've actually made up the cost of the SAFC in gas i have saved. i gained about 4mpg just from the SAFC.
although generally the more mods you have though the more it is worth getting it.
i also have made 154whp on a Mustang dyno, and that is a stockport NA...

Now back to subject, the N/A is supposed to be running quite rich so a good tune should increse power and gas mileage. It might be worth to buy the SAFC.

 

I don't know how rich my engine was stock, or if it was at all, but when I added my open exhaust and intake, I had to add fuel from 3000 rpm and up. I added a lot of fuel at 3800 which made the hesitation point minimal but it also gave me some more power during the mid range. Adding about +4 from 5000rpm up, gave me a push in the seat as well.

BTW, don't use anyone's correction numbers.

 

yea im new to rotary motors and have been reading alot bout them and it seems that u cant really get much out n/a. i got an series 5 fc for drifting but i want to beef it up a little so i was wondering if some computer work would give me a boost. the only mod i have is a cone filter and rb full road race exhaust.

 

I get 25mpg highway in my S4 NA, and pushed 140 to the rear wheels on a Mustang Dyno, cutting at 7250 RPM (it still makes power up through 8k, and I've pulled on a stock TII with it). I'm pulling out a LOT of fuel up high (tuned with the narrowband O2 sensor - tune to stoich, add a bit of fuel), and it definitely pulls harder than with the stock fuel maps.

You can get them for around $200, and not everyone wants to go turbo.

safc2 are rarer now.. i just ordered the neo, since its 275... gonna save up for a wideband, and tune my friends t2 motor and my n/a, i dunno what im doing but ill figure it out on my car first LOL

 

yeah thats what i thought and my motor blew. i was running a 12.0 a/f and it popped. id leave the tuning up to the pros.

 

12.0? For a T2 or N/A? I believe T2s should end up in the 11s or 10s. N/As I have seen with good numbers are around 13.0-13.5

 

ditto.. im damn hell not gonna put that t2 over 11.8 or whatever... lol i was planning to start with stock numbers, then see where that is, and move it to around 11.2 to 11.5.. whatever works best.. but nothing like.. 12... lol the word going around for the longest time is uhh.. high 11! lol

my n/a.. i was thinking about 13.5 or so..

 

It's worth it with the right supporting mods. I don't know on a rotary, but I know on a piston engine, I've seen 10-15whp gains on a stock engine just because they run so stupid rich from the factory. I'll be throwing one on my project in hopes of hitting 150whp or higher.

 

One guy maed 162rwhp with a s5 n/a engine, SAFC, some sort of intake and I think some type of exhaust. I have the link saved on my comp at home, I will post it up once I get the chance.
