Seeing as I'm not an SUV guy, the CX-7 was touch n go for me the first time around. I was braking early and easing it through the corners and then I eventually realized that it wasn't like the rest of the american SUVs I've driven in. It was a bit of a surprise that I could take it out almost like I do a car. I still despise riding that high off the ground though

after driving all of those new cars and experiencing the instant brakes, and smooth powerful brakes I know that there is definately something wrong with my brakes on my fc. those cars stop as soon as you tap the brake pedal, my pedal has to be pressed with force to get similar response, and even then it is weak compared to the 8,5, and 6. I had a feeling something was wrong, still not sure what it is but my booster might be out of commission. I have new axxis pads so that isn't the problem.

Tell me about it, the RX-8 brakes seemed to bite the hardest to me... well thats because I didn't really use the brakes on the MX-5... throttle steer was enough to get it around the corners without inducing much of a slide. Mine bites instantly, just not hard because I have some stocker compound pads. Besides, if they bit any harder on my current wheels/tires, it would just make em lock up more than they do already.

Oh wow, from Monroe LA - we saw your car out there. I used to go to school there at NLU/ULM whatever it is now.
Oh, on the brake thing, the first thing I'd try is get a buddy and spend an hour bleeding your brakes through with new fluid. If you have to get physical on the brake pedal, then either you've got a bad booster pump, or some air has crept into the lines from years of recompressing the calipers to install new brake pads. Bleeding the brakes would be the first thing to try though, since you can flush and fill your whole system for less than $10 if you do it yourself.
Actually probably works best with three people - one inside the car pressing the pedal, one outside by the master cylinder to keep adding fluid, and one by whatever wheel you're bleeding to hit the bleeders on the back of the calipers.

Oh, the funniest thing of the day had to be when we were lining up for the CX-7 thing, and my buddy was there with his badge double-clipped. The guy by the gate says "Oh no, what happened?" I said "The Mazdaspeed 6 got the best of him" and he goes "Oh, were you the guy from earlier that went nuts and took out like 20 cones?"

And I agree on the mx-5/rx-8. The mx-5 was much more fun on this autocross course, but I would much rather have the 8 for the street. Like you said, the 8 would be great with more power, where the 5 would be kinda scary.

Maybe they're still putting the times in? I see best time Saturday Adrian M, Sunday Lee M, and my time on the timer was 37.119 which would have me in third on Saturday as it's listed. :P My best time still doesn't show up under my picture, so maybe they're still putting it all in?

yes i am sure they don't have it done yet. I believe i have an official 2nd place overall on sunday. saturday i don't know about. probably top ten.
they still need to update many times and i am sure it will take a few days. Stu Hayner was great as was John. thanks to both of you for making me feel like a friend. I'd love to go racing with you guys someday, or even watch you guys. I am by no means a great driver, and it would be a stretch to say that i am good, I just love it and am getting started. maybe i'll do well in scca, or some other league one day.

Oh no, he was a black guy. Very nice and very talkative. Gave me loads of crap when my wife got more goals than I did at the CX7 challenge. :P I was actually most impressed that my wife did the Mazdaspeed course in just over 40 seconds on her second try, in the automatic car.
