We have lost another rotary brother.

Brads Sims (Fsunoles06) recently passed away from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.

He was a bright young man who last year graduated from college, and already had his job before he graduated. His first car/daily driver was a RX-8. His second car was a FD RX-7 which Kyle and I had rebuild with a ported motor with full non-seq turbos. Only very recently did he buy the motorcycle.

Please take a second and pray for him.

He was a great kid, I'll miss him. I heard about it from his mother, broke my heart to hear her talk about what happened, needless to say I don't want to go thru that with my son.

I rode a motorcycle in college and a few years after, had intense fun with them, but for me the fun was all about cheating death. Every day on the motorcycle was another opportunity to feel invincible, and the many near death experiences reinforced that feeling often. I still remember the times when I almost killed myself and my girlfriend, looking back it's not so obvious if it was worth it but it was a blast. For the past 15 years it's not been worth it for me, I've been bike free and plan to keep it that way. I still have the memories and feelings of riding the bike, the road rash scars, and perhaps a few damaged vertebrae from the spills, that's enough for now.

If anyone would ask if it's worth it I'd say dump the money into the 7 to make it faster rather than buy a bike, but that's just my take. There's no feeling like being on a fast bike, and I assume the same applies to not being able to walk, ride, or breathe again. I still cannot believe that we lost Brad, I just talked with him a week or two ago about setting up a carwash for a benefit to help my wife's boss who is fighting stomach cancer. Brad will be missed.
