LA southern hospitality

06 something this morning, i get a flat near veteran's exit while on the way to new orleans airport. got my people to the airport on time but stuck with the goverment van.

08ish, my co worker comes up when im getting ready to put the spare on (the people i was taking to the airport could not find the spare but i found it after they left and decided to wait, yes im on working hours). this purple "rice" TC rolls up and stops, i though to myself, cool, more hands to help. me and my boy are in uniform so i'm not used to civilians helping me out or showing appreciation, the driver walks up to us and i tell my boy to talk to him. turns out, this guy was lost and needed directions, we gave him direction, he left...we're pissed, got the spare on but seriously. ask us for direction and don't even think twice about helping. sure we're military and all but seriously! the exit was just a few feet away with gas stations, locals who probably have been living in Louisiana longer then i have been in the Navy, oh well, spare is on, find a tire shop.

MEMO

note to self, when asking for help, when in uniform, don't come up to the nearest old dude with a serious face and say, "I have a question for you?" dude was shitting bricks!

my day started at 4 and still working
