So I have this hot-date this weekend
Alright, most of you know I don't know the DFW too well so I'm looking on some recommendations on where to take my date.
I was thinking the Sundance area in FTW might be good, although I'm not too sure where exactly to go.
What about the North-Dallas or Downtown Dallas area? Any recommendations?
I'm not looking into something super-expensive, as it is my first date with this girl. Just something of a decent enviornment that's not too lively, but relaxing.
Any suggestions are welcome.
And no, nothing around Harry Hines Blvd., or the Oak Cliff area please.

Super Buffett or Hooters!
There's all kinds of stuff to do, just depends on specificly what you want. Sundance Sq would be way to far. I'd say something in the Addison area or on Greenville. Maybe the Improv, Daves Piano bar, Studio Movie Grill, Granada, mind went blank...

Something relaxing in a very chill atmosphere is the Velvet Hookah in Addison. You've got hookah's, belly dancers, usually some cool trance music all the while sitting on the floor on plush carpets and pillows. They've got awesome food and the scenery is very nice.

if you still want to go to the sundance area... mi cocina is a good mexican food place (wonderful mango margaritas) and then chill for an outdoor concert at 8.0... always a fun place

I agree taht Sundance is nice.. but unless you have something to talk about for teh 2+ hour round trip "road trip" I'm stick a litle closer..
Where does "she" live? (presumable where you'll be picking her up..)
the uptown area has a lot of cool nice restraunts to go & hang out at (I love the margarita's at Chuy's)
Here's a decent site to get some ideas...

She's from the Garland area. Keep the suggestions coming. C'mon Clinton, Scalli chime up!
Eric: Where's Chuy's exactly?
Cavell: Velvet Hookah sounds cool but might be a little too forward of a name for a first-date, but I'll keep it in mind for the future.
I do plan on getting a little loving this weekend (knock on wood) but I think that name would scare her away.

the whole Mockingbird area has a ton of cool stuff...
The Chaucer's at MockingBird station (just north of the big Vigrin Record's megastore) is cool..
Ice Skating at the Galleria?
Zen's Mongolian BBQ (early) in Addison Circle
Stand-up Comedy at the Addison Improv?
The Velet Hooka isn't a "scary" or "forward" place at all... It's a sweet chilling place with a mediterreanian atmosphere.. It's not a strip club :P (drinks are about that expensive however)

Not sure exactly what happened. Just planned a happy hour about a month ago and whenever we showed up none of the lights were on and the doors were locked. Heard later it was because of that.

I was looking around at a couple of apartments last weekend in Garland, when I decided, why the hell would I want to live here?
The area is too run down, not that exciting and looks like it has a high crime rate. Other than the closer location to work, I didn't find it that appealing.
Which is why I am probably looking to move into Richardson.

I consider it signifigantly better. I have yet to drive in an area of Garland, I considered halfway decent.
The UT-D Area in Richardson seems pretty nice.

Well, Six Flags is open...
There's always the West End Marketplace which is nice and has a ton of nice resturaunts and such around.
Baby Doe's is a fantastic resturaunt if you want "fancy".
