RX-Club of Houston Monthly Club Meeting @ Wings-N-Things - February 14th 2012
Greetings again everyone!!
Well what do you know our February meeting is right around the corner and yes it IS on
Valentine's Day
. Now I know some of you probably have a significant other at home waiting for you so this is a great excuse to take them out for a dinner and a (car)show!
As promised the 2012 year is going to have some new locations thrown into the mix for your consideration. Our first "new" meeting location takes us back to Wetheimer a place we haven't been as a club in years.
The meeting location is at the corner of Weshiemer and Fountain View at Wings-N-Things. The parking lot is well lit and just down the street from our long time location at Barry's. I will post some detailed location maps or you can just program your favorite GPS unit to find us.
Where: Wngs-N-Things
2711 Fountain View Dr # A, Houston, TX
(713) 974-7921

When: February 14th 2012.
As usual earlybirds are welcome to show up before 6, but the meeting doesn't really get moving until 7PM!!
Dinner happens shortly thereafter (by 7:30 usually).
Most meets end between 9 and 10PM or when the last person goes home!

See you there!!

Add some hot wing sauce to that exhaust and we will all be cryin'.
PS: everyone don't forget LeMons is this weekend at TWS (Texas World Speedway) it's the season opener and one of only THREE Texas races this year. So come on out and support our own Team Sensory Assault. Check out their Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Team-S...7573363?ref=ts

For a future meet we now have a Freebirds in Katy just off I10 on Mason. Perhaps we can do a lunch or dinner then caravan off to LMP for some quarter mile action. Need to look at TX2K12 schedule to see if this would work. Anywhichway, post in if folks are interested and I can set this up one weekend b4 the summer heat sets in.

Decided its smarter to not go out there with a vert running straight headers, no inspection, no registration, no insurance, and no drivers license...hopefully next time.
I went looking for it at about 6:45 PM:
(1) the traffic was horrible, horrible!!!!!!!
(2) it wasn't where the yahoo map showed it
(3) I could not find it
(4) I did not see any RX-7s any where around the intersection of Fountain View and Westheimer.
So I said **** it and left the area and went home.
Even if it is there I will never attend as the location sucks!!!!!

We saw you Chuck, pretty sure you looked right at us. I admit last nights conditions were not ideal.
Parking was tight, because of the date night, however the management assured us that the general traffic and parking lot is usually much more empty on a Tuesday (At least by 7PM)
Please remember this is only a couple of blocks away from Barry's (our normal Fountainview location) so the additional traffic to that location should have been minimal.
We won't have this location in our regular rotation, but the parking lot is very well lit and the management took good care of us. Everyone that did make it out seemed to have a good time despite the couple of inconviences.

1. I didn't think traffic was too bad... just general Houston traffic.
2. I might not have found it either if I haden't spotted a riced out RX-8 on westhimer and followed him.
I'm sure the food was good, I like wings but am still unsure of the things. I had just eaten before I got there.
The lot was well lit but if we can't park next to each other it sucks.
I don't mind trying new places though, it's impossible to keep everyone happy all the time.

PS -- car is on blocks as I wait to finish the brake job. I relocated the Blitz boost controller and had the radio installed -- looking sweet. As soon as she's rolling again I will bring by to wrap up these gauges -- thanks again dude!

If any one should be kept in a state of happy blish, it is me.
My first RX-7 was a 83 FB purchased new. It ended up being a 185 rwhp NA 12A, and faster than a stock turbo FC and any Porsche 944. 9 years owning a FB.
Bought the 1992 FD R1 in June 1992 because it was the first stock RX-7 better than my 83. June will be 20 years of owning it.
I have been a member of all iterations of the Houston area RX-7 club since 1983.
I am MR. ROTORY of Houston!
