Run away tire hits new VW

I work at Boardwalk Volkswagen in Richardson. Late last summer we had a semi truck tire come off the trailer hub and all, and collide into a new Jetta. The report said that the bearing had failed with caused the seperation. The truck was on the US75 heading north at 60mph or so.

Here is the security camera footage a tech ran across.
break video

The Jetta was totaled. I wish I took pics now that the video was found. The trunk and side panel was pushed all the way up to the back seat. Surprisingly the doors were straight, and the rear seat showed little signs of damage. Had someone been in the back seat they would have had minor injuries.

Enjoy

Very cool. That thing was smokin! Definitely looks like a failed bearing to the untrained eye, even.
