ok i'm lookin at an 87 gxl with 50,000 miles on it an it dont run whats the odds the apex seals are blown on it? i thought they normally go around 75,000 miles till the seals blow

 

An engine can last 25k or 250k before it blows. There is no way to know just from milage. There is a good chance that the reason it wont run isn't a blown seal, though. Even with a blown seal it will run, just badly.

 

you can really get that many miles out of a set of apex seals!? everybody i talked to said they only last about 75,000 to 115,000 miles an they blow. i thought that was normal. but your sayin you can actually get high miles on the apex seals just like a regular car.

well any regular car i'm not drivin i dont do to well with piston cars
