OKC Salvage Yards.

I spent about 30 minutes friday afternoon calling most of the larger import salvage yards in the phone book looking for a second gen.

Shaddy Nook has a couple second gens, but he is only open from 8-4:30 Tue - Fri...bangs head against my desk...

Wilsons- I had a very pleasant conversation with what I can only imagine as a sweet grandmother...they have a 90 NA I belive, that Pa but the bucket throught the back window when he was removing a birds nest (most of been one heck of a nest.) Anyway they want to sell the whole car for 500 bucks and are not interested in parting it out yet..

After five or six other calls...and hearing they dont have any, and listening to the Pick a Part message four times hopeing someone would pick up, I gave up with the idea of starting over saturday morning.

To get to the point, anyone know a salvage yard in OKC that has a couple of second gens, and are open Sat or till 6ish at night?

Thank you,

Joe

I was in Pick a Part about 2 weeks ago, they have an FC but not alot left think it was an 86 or 87 NA every few months they will get an FB or FC in.

LA Imports has about 10 or so FCs all NA, but he is kinda proud of them price wise, hes on 29th between Del City and I-35. I got an S5 stereo and shift surround there and a driveshaft once

If you look on Ebay there is RX7addict who has Apex Auto parts, I think he just relocated to OKC from Tx but I havent been there or talked to him I think he mostly deals in RX7 parts.

Otherwise as you have seen the pickings are pretty slim. Hope that helps might be easier to watch the for sale section here to find stuff

Riverside had several in the past. Although I ran through a bunch of their parts back in the day. Rx7addict purchased 2 FC's from me last summer. He is in okc. You can pm him here. Are you just looking for a 2nd gen? I generally pic up one a year for cheap and rebuild it. Just keep your eyes out. There was a base model on ok-speed.com for 650 a couple weeks ago.

Good luck.

My dad's frieght company does some of the shipping for Apex and said he is a really nice guy...I went by his shop this weekend (it was closed) but it is somewhere close to sheilds on the south side of okc, something like 29th or so...pretty rough part of town.

Thanks for the tips.

I learned to turn a wrench when I was younger out of necessity then I hit a phase where I drove cars that really didnt break down...then I bought a 7...

I think Ill take a look a pick a part this week-end, and keep LA inports in mind. Riverside was one of the "no" answers.

Ebay has been good to me, but I hate the waiting game...

With all the rain, I think I am starting to grow webbed feet...and limited time to work on my Audrey, (I love that reference from LSoH) I would pay a little more to have the part ... kinda available...if you know what I mean.

Thanks again,

Joe

Well Really ummm there hasn't been alot of places in oklahoma for rotarys. Ummm I have lived here for 17 years. I grew up here and my brother had trouble finding parts to in oklahoma when he worked on his. From what he told me from when he was working on rx7s there really wasn't alot of people that owned rx7s in oklahoma.
