I try to do most of the work on my car myself, but I was wondering who you normally trust working on your Wankel in New Orleans?(hahahha wankel working) Anywho, if anyone can point me in the right direction to a good, trustworthy, shop in the New Orleans area that would be great.

I just left New Orleans in July but I can still give my input. Darrel from DCP motorsports did my engine replacement, but he is no longer in business (Katrina). My car then went to Freddie Hebert in Thibodaux for my single turbo install. Freddie does good work and can be contacted at 985-493-9945 or 9951. He has worked on several cars from the New Orlean's crew (Sevens on the shore). Give him a call to set something up. Just be aware that he is extremely busy, as he owns Meineke car care in Thibodaux, and he has lots of business and customers to deal with.

 

Freddie has done about 17 FDs [my count] including an LSx-FD and a "rear clip" FD and several FCs involving a number of single and non-seq. conversions and major sequential turbo repairs, new engines and trannies. Customers have come from MS, TX, and FL.

Meineke Car Care hosted Steve Kan tuning back in Jan.'04.

Freddie's own 12 sec. FD runs a custom NS turbo'ed streetport engine w/ Haltech E6K.

Meineke Car Care also services a couple of Ferraris, some track cars, Jaguars, and other supercharged/turbocharged vehicles because Freddie has a life-time of experience in high-performance design and fabrication, service, and tuning.

Houma/Thibodaux's close proximity to New Orleans makes this uncommon level of service obtainable.

 

Josh, Hands down Freddie Hebert has tons of experience on FD's and is a great asset to all of us here in LA. He will get you in and out and does top notch work. As Marky Mark stated, people all along the coast have come to Freddie for his services.

do any of yall know if he has engines already rebuilt that we can buy from him? i need one and i'm trying to look for one close by. i live in Des Allemands close to houma. so i'm willing to drive to his shop and pick one up if he has one.
