Awesome. So now everybody knows there may be some guy, that we haven't been given any description of that might, maybe, possibly, theoretically be selling stolen parts.

THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP!

I just bought a taco from some guy. I HOPE IT WASN'T STOLEN!

LOL....good one. You're def. an intelligent one. Glad to have you aboard. I'd just stick to Taco Bell for tacos. Buying them from "guys" just doesn't sound right.

If you read through the posts we have been having some good communication until you came in.

That's all I have to say as you've wasted about 30 seconds of my life reading your posts.

BTW....if someone comes at you out there in TX trying to sell you a 20B you should jump all over it.

I think the whole point of this thread was to share the fact that someone in the community was stealing from a local shop. A sub point of the thread could be the investigation in finding the person.

Personally, I agree the persons name should not be released. The law can handle this, and it would be horrible to blame someone for this who might have not been the actual theif.

Just my opinion, but evidently that doesnt matter until i get triple digit post counts (that was in reference to something from another thread)

man I hate thieves, stealing **** ranks right up there with molesting children and hitting a woman if you're a dude as far as I'm concerned, all 3 things only weak, pathetic , lame *** people ever do. get a job and buy it next time already. As far as who it was, I don't think that's relevant, I'm just glad someone mentioned a 20b might be floating around out there so in case i run across something now I won't be buying stolen crap. good luck with everyhting and rest assured, what comes around goes around and whoever did the looting can't run forever.

Well said Canary and Big O. Thanks for the support. The last thing our boy Darrel needed after his shop came crumbling down was to get looted. I also agree, what goes around comes around.

UPDATE: Additional parts missing.

Darrell called me today after leaving his shop and taking inventory. Last week's news was from his partner visiting to meet with SBA about a loan. His partner John doesn't care to work on the rotaries and pays little attention to them.

A customer's M2 medium intercooler, discharge pipe and Greddy elbow are missing along with a set of used 93-95 stock turbos.

After a recent change in insurance the shop was left unkowingly left w/o contents coverage.

So if the scum bag justifies his action with "insurance will pay for his loot and I'm really not back stabbing DCP and his customers in the back while they are already down from the storm" - not in this case. This would be a lot easier to accept if someone off the street broke in and stole random stuff but this is a back stabbing SOB.

Jack

It won't after count after quadruple-digit post counts as per that stupid Mysterious FD of North Texas thread.

Ted.. please pm me about this matter.. I have some questions of my own.. I spoke to Darrel about this.. I need to know who you guys think did this..

Also.. Darrell told me about a red FD that stopped by his shop like 2-3 weeks ago.. when John and the FEMA inspector was reviewing the dmgs to the shop.. I know the owner of that FD and I can assure you that it wasnt him..

no one is going to have a 3R and not sell it or expect that the public wont know if its installed. Its too rare.
So now someone has a expensive boat anchor.

I think you're underestimating just how far these types of forums reach, there's people that lurk, people who are members who are friends of a friend of a friend etc. and the list goes on so you never know...when all is said and done something like this can end up on a forum or forums amazingly quick and the perpetrator might not even know they're busted etc.... The 7 is not exactly a mainstream vehicle so anytime someone does something out of the ordinary (and a 3 rotor in a dumbestic Mazda is out of the ordinary, maybe more common nowadays but still out of the ordinary). Now if this thing made it overseas or something then a lot of us probably would never hear about it, but chances are if the dumbass who jacked it is cheap enough to steal, he/she's not rich enough to ship.

edit: if more stuff got stolen, and it's the same person/people/ ANd it's customer's stuff then I sure would hate to be in their shoes when the "Car"ma comes flowing their way....it's going to be brutal....although well deserved....

Side note: V8 swaps are about 10x more common than 20B installs.

Let the authorities handle it

I agree with badass that the authorities should handle the situation, and not to release the name of the suspect. If he is wrong the liability for the defamation would set in.

Angry Sorry to have to resurrect this thread, but the looting continues at DCP

My '93 R1 CYM was flooded at DCP and had remained there since the hurricane. Periodically, things have disappeared here and there (like an M2 SMIC), but now these bastards have gone too far!

After checking the car this Tuesday (first check in two weeks), it has been totally gutted. Everything under the hood worth taking is gone - the M2 intake box, the GReddy elbow, the strut bar - hell these ******** even took the oil cap. The boost gauge from the dash is gone. All of the interior molding is gone as well as the spare tire. The wing had been removed and was on the ground next to the car and wasn't taken for some reason, so I scooped it up. The tires were missing lug nuts as if they were tried to be boosted too.

I don't know what to say. Yeah, I shouldn't have left it there that long, but I guess its my fault for assuming that my buyer was going to come through (thank you sir, for not returning any calls for the last 2 months). Plus my condo doesn't allow inoperable vehicles on the property. When all your friends have FEMA trailers in their driveways, what ya gonna do?

Anyway, saw a white gentleman drive up the dead end street for no apparent reason while I was there. My vehicle was obscured from his vision, so he looked quite surprised to see someone there. I got your license plate from Florida buddy and have forwarded it to NOPD.

Cheers,

LMC3

You need to get the CYM outta there - it still has a lot of value! I suggest asking Freddie about storing it here in Houma at his body shop.

Thanks for the suggestion Mark. I meant to post that info on Tuesday when I discovered the theft. But I wanted to get the car squared away first. As of today, my car is no longer stranded out in NO East!!!! Wish I had done that months ago, but I thought my buyer was going to come through. I'll probably clean it up within the next month or so and take some new pictures before trying to sell it again.

Son of a B#$@@ !!! That is just ******* wrong. The lowdown ************ who has been looting our fellow Rotary bros. better NEVER come around us with those stolen parts.

Apparently Darrel confronted the thief over the phone and pretty much confirned his guilt along with his buddy with the red FD. Not sure what Darrel is going to do about it, but I know damn sure what I'd do.

Sorry to hear the news big Len.

Leonard, I know someone who would be interested in what's left of it. I'll give you a shout and see what's left of it.
