Im trying to get a Job on NAS New Orleans.

The info im looking at was cost of living, say a nice 3 bedroom is really nice shape or new rental. What is there to do before and/or after Katrina around the NAS area?

Ted--- Long time man.... I didnt think you were around anymore. Haha coming from me...

No parts, although after im there if I get the job then I can import a few things since I still have alot of people willing to do it for me. Plus I can arrange 99% of it from the states.

my father was on NAS for the last three years. he's an 06 so he got a pretty nice house for base housing. 1 floor and three beds. kitchen, 2 living rooms, office and a nice back yard. i remember one night there was a drive-by shooting off base but some of the cross fire hit the neighbors house. the base didn't suffer to bad from Katrina. if you are into motorcycles, this is the perfect place to go riding. open roads nice and smoothand good scenic routes.

J-T, yeah man..........long friggen time since you were King of the Import parts Well, as Recon FD stated an apartment (1-2) bedroom could be had anywhere from $740-$1500 a month !! As for houses, you can travel about 35 minutes away and pick up a brand new house for $250k if you are looking to get into a neighborhood that is going up as we speak. That would be a new house about 2k square ft.

There are also many other houses for that price about 15 minutes away that also go from about $230-$250k that range from 15-30 yrs. old.

Let us know if you get the job and we can help you get more info.

Wow all this fishing and the French quarter not to mention the road race course and drag strip at No Problem.Hmmmm. I have't rented for quite sometime. There are really good rental prices on stuff becuase the owners are getting government breaks on many properties. We just need to make sure its the ideal place for you. I live 45 minutes away but Ted or Trout may come across some info.
