I will bring it down probably not until next spring. And yeah that is my Dads 35, the pic that is turned on its side. Were you there with your FD?

Edit: I just read that your car blew the coolant seals, so of course your FD was not there, sorry about that. When will you have it finished?

Haha, I understand. My Dads group started that gathering up at the sonic, but it got so big they had to move it down to the empty parking near the convenience store. Most of the older cars are american cars with just a few foreign and or japanese cars.

I plan on bringing mine down to add to the foreign content. Most of those guys have never seen a rotary before.

My engine is an S5 with a street port, throttle body mod, RB 3" downpipe, magnaflow 3" resonator and greddy exhaust. It's a little loud but runs pretty good for a vert.

Maybe I will see you there.

lol yeah, i few of the older more open minded guys came down to take a look at mine and a few even knew it was a rotary. it'll really blow their mind now with the massive turbo on it though haha. it's still in break in though so i'll probably drive it down to the falls from indiana, then drive it back for the final tune. thing is, i need to get my fb up to indiana to get it registered too haha. neither of my cars would pass a safety inspection, and being military i can keep my indiana drivers liscence and the cops don't really mess with me unless i'm doing something retarded haha

A guy up in Oklahoma City. I think he works at the Parr automotive parts store on 13th.

My Dad traded his 32 3 window coupe for the 35 and the guy did the same flame job on the 32.
My Dad restores old cars as a hobby and I have been working on cars with him before I could ride a bike. I started out with 66-67 mustangs and then got an 84 RX7 and then this 89 vert. I love the fact that 1.3L can put out so much power.

I understand the open minded comment. Most all of the guys in my Dads group are pretty cool with the fact I own a 7. My Dad did have an 83 280zx turbo for awhile and they "adjusted" just fine.

You need to bring it when you can it looks good. I bet it is hard keeping it under 3-4K during the break in. It was for me!

Soooooooo I'm sorry to be the bad news bringer, but Duckie wrecked his FD yesterday. Is that your Chaser kit in his shop? Weve got most of the parts sold already, but if anybody needs anything let me know and well see if we can work something out.

Yea. Duckies rack should still be good. The damage is mostly cosmetic (that is untill the motor ran out of oil and might have locked up) if he got your bumper, fender and hood all he would need is an oil cooler and a new throttle elbow, but he said he was unhappy with it from the beginning and wants to start fresh. The damage is only the passenger side core support, and it didn't go past the beginning of the wheel well. I'll check the rack this weekend when I'm over there but I'm 99.9% positive it's good. I already swapped passenger door handles. Haha mine was sticking. And I'm going to swap out my stock struts for his coilovers for pretty cheap since I'm helping him part it out. Once we get everything sold locally that we can I'll be posting up a part out thread here on the forum and see if we can make him some money to help him out. His dad was alot less pissed than I thought he would be considering his dad gave him the money to pay off the loan.

so after talking with duckie and working out some deals, if i can get my widebody kit installed then duckie's going to take my front panels to replace his. he still needs to straighten the doghouse and get at least one oil cooler and his will be back up and running.

while i was out having a smoke last night i saw you clint lol. you went flying by on kell heading up to the highway. i live right on the corner of harrison and kell and you drove right by. i would've chased you down but i was smashed so no driving haha.

to everyone: let's get something started as far as regular meetings for rotar heads. call or text and let me know who you are and that you have a 7 and i'll try to set up a good day for everyone weather permitting. 765-470-1042

Kind of a dead post, but surely you guys are still around. Finally got around to buying a second gen. It sat for 2 years in some ladies garage and the oil seals are out. Would be nice to get in touch with some people in the area that know their way around a rotary. I'm about to order a Turbo II Engine, Tranny, and rear diff. After that I think I'll tear the old block apart and see what I can learn.

I'm in Anadarko (1h NE of Lawton) so let me know what's up. I'm all for cruising through the Whichita's. So sick of all the corvette and Camaro groups having all the fun.

lol wichita falls there are people out every saturday night hanging out on the sonic on kemp. there are a ton of mustangs and a handful of vettes, thing is, the vettes actually race and some are pretty built lol. i think there are only a handful of rotar heads left there, i moved back to indiana, ducky sold his (i've heard someone else is still driving it in town though) and clint sold his. there's another with blown turbos but until he get's a new set he isn't going anywhere lol. those are all the FD's, i haven't seen any second gen's and i've seen one first gen other than mine but some chic drives it as a daily and never brought it out. i think there are about 3 rx-8's i've seen that run around and actually play with them. too many people don't know what they have and use them for daily abuse :P

That's a shame. I'm having a hard time finding anyone to hang out and talk rotory with. This town is just another one full of Honda owners talking about their V-tech and Hondata (-.-)

Thanks for the update though. Sorry to hear about Ducky's FD and your moving away. These cars are to few and wide spread, and like you said, people just don't know what they have.

yeah, ducky's got too expensive for him after he caught it on fire, had it rebuilt, then wiped it out into a wall. i gave him my body panels so he could get it back to looking nice so he could sell it while mine got a body kit lol

Yeah, I came into this knowing it was going to cost a pretty penny. Even with just a second gen. things are getting pricey. I still hope to get an FD in the future, but that's a couple of years down the road. Want a first gen as well, but can't find one with the rear view mirrors on the fenders.
