Job + apartment in Indy
My best wishes to all the victims of Katrina. I hope this sort of thing is allowed in this forum.
Anyone who has or is going to be relocated to the Indianapolis area:
I have a position open with my landscaping company, and my next-door neighbor has apartments for rent.
We do high end work. Must be clean and professional, and have some landscaping experience, and above all have a valid drivers license and clean driving record. Not CDL, just a clean, regular license. Position is seasonal and ends around Christmas time, then restarts around March 1st. Pays $9-$12 hr. depending on experience +OT.
My neighbor has two apartments vacant. We are in a downtown, old house kind of neighborhood, and his apartments are decent but not fancy, but they are very reasonable rent for our area. I will get him in contact with any applicants. He has his own policies, but folks who pay their rent and are easy to deal with will love him, he's a real laid back guy.
This may be a good thing as the pay is good, the rent is cheap, and you wouldn't even need a car because you could catch a ride in with me in the mornings. Less than a mile to the grocery etc, easily walkable. For the past few years one of my employees did exactly this.
I don't really consider this charity, my business is growing but still pretty small and doesn't have room for a "fluff" position, real work is required. I've already given what cash I have to play with to the Red Cross, hopefully more later. It's just a convenient situation that might solve two problems at once for someone coming to our area, so I thought I would offer it to the Katrina victims first, before I run a regular ad in the local papers.
Anyone who has a need or knows someone who does can PM me, or email, or whatever.
Good luck regardless!
Ron

Thanks my friend, I appreciate that alot. But don't hurt your arm patting me on the back. Its not like I'm just giving away money or anything. Hopefully all parties will make out in the end. Its a handUP, not a handout!
