Talking Hey all/Back in Texas

Hey all, well I recently just moved to the DFW area and wanted to see who all the rotary owners are that live around here and what all there is to do in the area. Looks like I missed the meet on the 8th, but I'll try to make it to the next one. Here's just a little about myself:

First off my name's Justin, I lived in upper Texas for a few years (near Sherman). Then joined the Army and spent the last 3 years living in Tennessee, where I was introduced to rotaries thanks to memphisraines82, david jerome, and several others. Thank God for them showing me the ligh haha. Now I'm out of the Army and moved back to Texas, this time closer to the DFW area. I've been in the rotary community for almost 3 years now. haha still a noob, but learning as much as I can every chance I get. Currently own a 93 BB R1. Just started getting into the AutoX and HPDE events so if anyone knows of tracks I'd love to find out where they are.

Well don't want to bore you with other details, but wanted to say hi to everyone and see who all lived in the area. Look forward to meeting everyone!

Thumbs up

Welcome and thank you for serving this country.
Here you go for fun:

http://www.apexdrivingacademy.com/

http://www.motorsportranch.com/

http://www.thedriversedge.net/

http://www.eaglescanyon.com/2008/home.php

Also BMW club and the Porsche club have events on these tracks.

I do mostly Apex, because smaller groups, more sessions in one day and less expensive.

The Apex events get full quickly.
I'll give you a heads up when I go and you then can decide to go or not.

Welcome home!

Hope to see you at the monthly RX meets.

If you're not too far away, there are several other "meets" (mixed cars) nearly every night of the week.

Yeah I'll try to make it to as many of the monthly meets as I can. Where are these nightly meets usually located at? Is there usually a few rotaries that attend? Is rotary performance still the only place around? I know gotham racing closed down, but those are pretty much the only 2 I've ever known to be in the area.

Thanks Baron, really appreciate it.

Rotary performance is still around. www.rx7.com

There is a wednesday night "dallas imports meet" on wednesday nights at 8:30 or so off 75 and spring creek in the old Albertson's parking lot. I'm usually the only rotary car ever up there.

Monday nights there is a huge car show for Ricekiller.com. It's off of inwood and 35 in Dallas.
you can find more details at www.ricekiller.com; just go to the Dallas section and you should see a sticky for it. It's every Monday night.

Yeah; I was out there last night and I'll probably be there next wednesday. Once again, the only rotary car there.

Hi I'm not from the DFW area, but wanted to welcome you back to Texas! I'm living in Katy near Houston. Houston rotaries don't do too much stuff, and I'm not sure about the imports around here, or the autocross scene. But I want to encourage you early to save up for Seven Stock next year If you've never been, it's pretty awesome. Guess I don't have much else to say except I wish you continued luck in the rotary community!

Oh, and FDs are absolutely gorgeous. ^_^

MRB, looks like I'm not gonna be able to make it tonight. Having trouble with my brakes while switching out the pads. haha nothing is every easy on these cars, just when you think you go it, something goes wrong.

Thanks angel! Yeah I know where Katy is, I'll probably make my way there a few times. I usually end up going to Houston atleast once a year. Thanks for the welcome!
