FC Interior...or not!

I'm not the biggest fan of the FC interior mainly because it looks old and is boxy. I'd rather have something nice and smooth. Besides getting a custom one made I didn't see much of a choice.

Then I had an idea the other day that came to me as I sat at a red light.

Is it possible to put an FD's interior into an FC. I don't know if you could custom fab it in or not.

Any help on this would be very much appreciated.

I'm also fishing for any other ideas.

I don't have an FD to measure. I was going to see if anyone on here could possibly do that for me on their FD...If they get bored on of these days.

I didn't mean to disrespect the FC int. I was just wondering if it was possible, or if anyone has ever heard of anything like this.

I've seen the dash swapped, but it took some fab work. Basically, cut the sides of the dash off and slapped on the end "caps" of the FC dash... where it ends and the door trim starts.

Hmm...that sounds interesting.

I figured that it would take some fab work but I wasnt sure how much.

Do you remember where you saw the swap, or have any idea where I should look?

As much as I hate saying this...

Search the 2nd gen section.

I'm a little bit busy right now, or else I'd search for you. Try "3rd gen dash" or something, since "FD" is too short and you'll get nothing but hits for "dash".

wish I could be unfortunately im still in high school. And im working just to keep the car I have and try to repair it a little bit at a time.

I went through and searched the old threads but didnt find much. Everybody came up with the same idea then dropped it. Or else they made it out of fiberglass and never posted again.
