Drift Day 4 Sept 24th Walnut Ridge, Ar
On September 24, 2005, Traction Optional will be hosting its 4th drift day at the Walnut Ridge Regional Airport in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
Here's the info:
Drivers:
$40 if you pre-register (http://www.tractionoptional.com/for...gistration.html)
$50 if you pay at the door
Spectators:
FREE!
Schedule:
8-9:30am Driver checkin, tech inspection, driver's meeting
10-1pm - Round #1 drifting
1-2pm - Lunch break
2-5pm - Round #2 drifting
Concessions/food will be sold at the event.
Please bring your own helmet. You will not be allowed on the course if you are not wearing a helmet. If you do not have your own helmet, please make arrangements beforehand to borrow one from a friend. Safety first!
Rides may be given but only if the spectator asks a driver first and only if the driver agrees. Helmets must be worn by spectators that are riding.
Directions:
If you are coming from Memphis:
Take I-40W, go over the bridge into AR and then take I-55N
From I-55N, take Hwy 63N
From Hwy 63N, take Hwy 67 and take the exit going towards Pocahontas
Once on 67, be on the lookout for a large sign that says Walnut Ridge Regional Airport on your right side. Take a right into that street. Once at the end of the street, make a left and there will be signs directing you to either the spectator or driver area. It is pretty obvious since at that point you will see people and cars.
If you are coming from other states, mapquest your way to Hwy 67 in Walnut Ridge. Then depending on whether you are coming from the North or South, the sign for the airport will be on your left or right.
These events are drift PRACTICE sessions. These are not competition events. They are intended to give you, the driver, ample opportunity to learn how to drift your vehicle in a safe environment, before we branch out to host competition style events. So don't be afraid. Everyone has got to start somewhere. Come out, bring tires, and have yourself a good time. Some of our more seasoned drivers will be more than happy to give you advice as well as teach you drifting techniques.
