Does anyone know a good tranny rebuilder?

hello all, i had some tranny issues last time i was home and i'm looking to find someone who can rebuild/repair it. i am not even sure that it is a huge issue, but i think i would like to start from scratch anyways.

if no one knows a rebuilder, maybe someone in the houston area has one for sale that has been freshly rebuilt.

i am currently out of the states again but i can have it dropped off and picked up in the houston area. i am not in a huge rush for anything either as it will be october before i am back in tx.

well thanks for reading and for any help you can offer, mark

what kinda of issues were you having? grinding/scratching, popping out of gear, no reverse?

hey tessai, i had issues with it popping out of gear and it actually got stuck in first gear at one time. when that happend i had it towed to a shop and then i took it apart and saw that it was missing the collar or cap off of the bottom of the shifter. i never found the cap though, so i parked it........plus i am not home.

i am looking into getting a fresh rebuild.........waiting on email and information.

I don't know of anyone off the top of my head in the Houston area that's worth while. I'll do some hunting today/tomorrow and see who's good and not going to screw you. It's a shame your not closer though. Would be more than willing to help military/D.O.D. contractors out.

The tranny shop that use to be next to Maz-Max was very good, and used by Maz-Max.
They moved but Pat should know. Call him at 832-888-5440.
