DFW RX-7 August 2012 Meet

Antsy people lately

WHO: Those who possess the desire to drive rotaries... or stuff them into everything usable
WHAT: A congregation of the above.
WHERE: 635 & MacArthur BLVD in the parking lot behind Cheddars/McD's
WHEN: Saturday, August 4th, 2012 @ 8:00PM
WHY: I'm bringing a different car for once (P.S. No more "wide body FD")

Something something something plans for another get together/bbq on the 25th also?

I should actually be able to make this one...finally got the engine electronics sorted out.

Is this meet going to end with a sushi run or are we heading to Tito's for BBQ?

Tito's won't be til the 25th. If people want to do sushi, we can cruise for sushi.

I would drive my FC if I could get it to pass emissions...
Nearly bone stock and the dang thing still won't pass.

^ Oh damn I forgot.....I'm past due on emissions as well. What's the age before we no longer have to pass the sniff test?

Damn! I have an s4 FC made late in 88, but title states 1989. 2014 can't get here soon enough!

Or an RX-8, Mazdaspeed6, Mazdaspeed3, maybe a G35. WRX? Evo?
Really need a pickup, though. Guess I should find an '86 or '87 and remove the hatch.
Hey Angry Earl did it and drifted it!

You can probably get the title corrected based on the VIN - the year is encoded therein, I believe. Then you'll be exempt this coming January 1.
I've got to wait until Jan1, 2015. Which means I might just pull the dang engine, stuff it in one of my FBs, and just part the stupid thing out.

Hey man, whatever floats your boat.

Maybe get a REPU and put the 6 port in there from the one you already have, and then part out the car.
So, you would then have a pickup, money in your pocket from the part out, and an engine that is being used rather then sitting around taking up space.

On another note: would you consider selling a 12a from one of your extras?
Need a little experience pulling and rebuilding a rotary.

most cars are built a year before their model year. ive seen 01' production cars tagged as 03'. so its probably not a misprint.

I may come out, wife just got an rx7 fd. If we come, ill probably bring the supra too . stock fd is too slow.

So I guess as a sick joke work has me doing a closing shift today instead of my normal super early opening shift.
I'll try to make it as soon as I can.

Won't make this one, cars down (no didn't hurt it) taking the small turbo out (75mm cast wheel Borg Warner) and going bigger (78mm billet wheel Borg Warner).

I got used to 810 RWHP on the 75mm, looks like it will max out the turbo at 900RWHP, so billet 78mm it is to get to 1000 RWHP.

Should be done for the next meet.

This was a last second picture so it's super blurry.

And the full line up of who stayed for dinner.
