DFW Dyno day coming soon...

We are in the process of setting up a dyno day for all the RX-7 and RX-8's in the DFW area. We've gotten the ok to use the dyno at Rotary Performance in Garland. We just need to pin down the day. So, look for more info soon (ie. date and cost).

GsrSol: disagree

...lol...Why? They're the most central location right in the middle of Arlington!
If RP stays "too busy", it should be given consideration if a Forum member has an inside line there....

Yeah, I can help there too.
If you guys are interested, I can set it up there.

I know Alamo is hosting a huge dyno day tomorrow, so I plan on attending. They are charging like $40-50 for 3 runs or something like that.
Also, they started carrying Microtech and Wolf 3D ecus, and I am in need of one, so I will be talking to them about that. They always have the Autronic and AEM ecus in stock, but I am leaning towards the Microtech. I'd rather put an AEM on the car, but cannot afford it:-(

Most central location just happens to be right down the street from you?

You guys can set it up where ever you would like. Just letting you know that I have a personal issue with Alamo from back in the day and will not be attending if it's held there.

I work at Alamo Autosports, actually I am in charge of tuning a lot of the cars there.

About the dyno day, best date in June would be Satuday, June 18th. Three pulls will cost $40, no air/fuel. We can organize the dyno from 9am-3pm, depending on how many cars will register for the dyno day.
I would really like to setup the whole event. If know exactly how many people will show up, we can do something about food and drinks.

More on Alamo Autosports: we are one of the oldest and most established shops in the DFW metroplex. We have done mostly piston engines, but we have several big rotary projects behind our back. Just recently we tuned an FB (1stgen's car) with 13B-REW, street port, T72 turbo, and Microtech. The car put down 440rwhp, with boost controller not working right( spike at 14psi and fall to 11psi, old HKS EVC 3). Right now we are working on a 13B-RE engine, full bridge port, race exhaust ports, Garrett GT42 turbo, and Microtech. Also we have done a bunch of 400-500whp Evos, one RB26dett powered Nissan 240sx, turbo Miatas, Proteges, 350zs, and many more

About the dyno day: please pm me what time you would like to attend, and what car you have. I will post a list with the people that registered, and I will be updating the list.

About the guys at ATS racing, they are our friends. We go to dinner together :-)

The dyno day in Richardson was $40, three pulls with an A/F readout...so I wouldn't go for a dyno day that didn't match those guys. They prove it IS possible to do it and make money. No point in being greedy.

'Nuff said...

heh, well if you want to compare costs... I got 3 pulls with a/f at QuickCar on Jupiter. And that's just their standard rate... no "dyno day" special....

A/F is good

D/FW RX-7 Club Dyno Day

The deal we've had with Rotary Performance was that any dyno day we ran was a fund raiser for the club. If another shop is willing to do the same I'd certainly like to talk with them.
