DFW Dec Meet?
DFW Dec Meet?
December meet going to happen? I want to come out this month and meet some peeps and hopefully poke around on an S5 car to see what I need to do to mount a S5 radiator in an S4 car without custom fabbing stuff.
Hey I'd be willing to meet up (assuming days don't clash with plans). I haven't been since September. Got a new car hoping to be a couple of months from running condition. I've been a couple of months since October though.

I'll make it to this one this time. Got my RB REV exhaust (the older style, non SS) installed this weekend. I installed the cat-back in june to pass emissions and finally got the rest of it put together. Still wanted to keep a cat on there so I installed a custom Bonez piece in place of the silencer. Nothing is evereasy when it comes to after market parts.
10thaniv, I'm looking at air-to-water IC next so would like to pick your brain. I decided V-mount was getting way over my head and would delay other upgrades I'm looking at.

I bet you that, if the meet would rotate between 2 or 3 different spots, it would pick up more followers.
Say like North Dallas Tollway in Addison/Plano area, Present location 635/MacArthur and Vista Ridge Mall 35E/121.
I know few more people would make it.

But then does that segregate the "DFW RX Community," geographically?
Some people may not want to drive to the other side of the metroplex for a meet. The current location is fairly central to begin with, so any other meets need to be around the airport. There are several members that live on the west-side, but many of them never show up to meets. How many regulars attendees do we have that show up every month anyway?
If say, the locations were switched up from month to month, they would need to be located fairly close to the airport, and IMO not more than one other spot. Too many and people will get confused about what location. HEB/Grapevine location versus the current location would be an optimal choice.
Another option is that we meet for an hour or so and then take a cruise like we used to. We went to Ft Worth a while back to eat at.....I'm forgetting his name (Tony?).....'s restaurant for dinner, we've gone to Lewisville, downtown Dallas, and Addison a few times.
EDIT: Did I miss putting you on the map? PM me to let me know and I'll update it.

It doesn’t segregate the DFW RX Community, it allows for more flexible, realistic options for others that would like to meet, but can’t because of “geographic” locations and/or times. Keep in mind, “DFW” is such a generic range name for our “community”.
As you stated, no, some people do not want to drive to the other side of the metroplex for a meet. To me, the current location is not “central”, it’s just a decent location given that it is close to the airport; it’s easy to navigate.
Back several years ago, the DFW meets were every Wednesday night. There were always at least 15-20 cars that met. Over the years, it dwindled down, and down, to only a few. There are many rotary owners still in these parts. So, maybe more would come out if there were some changes made? Personally, the only reason I never go is because I hate going to car meets at night. I opt for sunlight.
Just some thoughts.
Fair enough. If you're thinking multiple meets each month, what about if we meet at Cars and Coffee and then another location half way through the month? One that changes location from month to month. That way people around DFW (if you look at the map I posted, the "community" of people who post on this forum really does span across the four-county region, except for a couple outliers) all have a chance to attend a meet close to them.
I want to make it to a meet, I'll keep my eyes open for the next one.
Hopefully this gets updated with the rest of RX7 owners in the DFW area

I don't really care where they are to be honest. I like driving my 7 around, it's the reason why I (and we) have them after all. Having multiple meets would be cool and would hopefully bring more of you guys out, 90% of the time 10 people say hey will show and 4 actually do lol. Let's try it out for a few months and see how it works.
