I was just kiddin', forgot about the teal. I wish that was mine but I do in fact have a 7. A neighbor who lives a few houses down had a white one years ago. Now his shop is filled with other automotive works of art.

OMFGWTFBBQ!!! You just got that thing a week ago!!! I dont care if you werent at fault... ...this is DFW! Why the hell do you think so many people autocross miatas? Those things 0wn every class theyre in! You should know pretty well by now how other people drive... ...thats why its important to learn how to avoid em... ...especially in a miata... ...if they cant see a huge bright red shiney car, they certainly wont see, or care about some little black piece of metal that your driving. So unless it was hit while you were parked... ...you should have driven off the road, just like all the other drivers force me to do!

there's probably more to that story than meets the eye

Like..... maybe she was flying up to redline and the little light started blinking blue, then it flashed green for a second and she mistimed her shift as the light had already gone red and then "OVER REV!" popped up on her windshield, blinding her forward vision and then it became a series of unfortunate events.

Glad you're ok - that sucks about the Miata though - too bad you don't have an Rx7 you could bring!

You forced that fishtail... ...you were playing around... ...and thats what rear view mirros are for... ...plus convertibles are awesome because youve got that 360 vision.. ...or should have had it...

Im just giving you a hard time. Hope its not totaled, and I hope you get everything hes got...

...May I ask what he was driving?

Did you already sell the escort? got any of those old mustangs left? c'mon, I finally attend one of these little meets again, and youre not even gonna be there?!?

no I was going slow around the turn and my tires are bald and there was a puddle. I was trying not to fishtail so I took it extra slow and still did. I was waiting for tomorrow to get my paycheck to get new tires. He was driving a rental that was a chevy cobalt. he hit my driver quater panel and spun me around. The escort is already sold I traded that in for the miata. I am probably going to sell the miata when I get it back just because I really dont want a wrecked miata altho I know that everything will be okay with it when it gets out of Freeman Mazda.

What are yalls opinions on the body work at freeman?

The guy lives in the same apartment complex that I live in and I am thankful that it wasnt the 7.

Well, good job getting the dealer to do it... ...personally I would get a quote from them... ...then when the retards insurance is forced to pay the stealerships hefty price, find a cheaper shop, or do it yourself... ...pocket the rest. Id also be worried that the dealerships price would total out a 7 year old dime a dozen mazda

...and yeah, if it were the rx7, it would be totaled no matter who you sent it to... ...and think of this... ...if you have a set of 4 brand new tires... ...would the damage have been less? would you still have kept the car? Personally I would hate going back to the dealer after purchasing it a week before as you know very well that they'll ask... ...you'll say "It wasnt my fault"... ...and theyll be like "yeah, thats what they all say."

My FD was rear end and pushed into the car in front of me on 635 a couple of years ago, not too bad. My insurance recommended Freeman in Irving so there it went. It took forever and they did a shi.....y job. Paint match was way off and after a couple of months the paint on the nose started to crack. I personally will never get bodywork there again. I didn't want to keep messing with them because I'm planning on painting the whole car soon I hope. My Protege5 got rear ended on 635 a couple of months ago and Bankston Nissan Collison did an awesome job. Very, very happy with the results. By the way I HATE 635!!!!!!

I'm planning on coming out Saturday too as I'm a new seven owner. Hopefully I'm not to beat by being out at MSR all day. Also just got the car running tonight and have a few small things to fix Friday evening. If that doesn't happen I'll show in my Subbie.

Just pick it apart when you get it back - if there's a run, a sag, a body line that's not quite right, refuse to pick it up until they fix it.

Truthfully, body and frame wise, you'll probably be fine. When a body shop corrects frame damage, they have a diagram that lists the points between the centers of all bolts in tenths of millimeters. It's the paint that I'd be most concerned about. They most likely sub that out anyway.

I think I've even got one for the RX7. Like I'll ever be in a position to need that. :P Not that I would never crash, but that I'd ever have the tools that would make that fine of an adjustment.

That was more 1stgens than I've seen together for a while, but the 1stgen crowd really needs to start getting some bodywork and fresh paint jobs done. An FD from Louisiana made it out with a nice kit, sorta Kombat, but not....oh, and the mosquitos were out in force although I couldn't figure out where the heck the standing water was that they came from.

And I got the tripod and my pool cues, but forgot my camera... I'll have my act together next time.

Sure, I mean seeing all the 1st gens there, theres no excuse... ...even with our fading paint, primered hood, and NO INTERIOR, we may as well push it there.
