Best advise is get the car Service Manual and follow it.
I did it, not bad, but you have to take a lot of things off before it can come off.

remove, seats, shifter, steering, steering stalk, glove compartment, ac, kick panels

remove bolts (2 on both ends, 2 on the tranny tunnel, 1 between the windshield defroster

remove a couple of major wiring harness in the driver side and the ecu.

just about a good 4 to 8 hours job. Might as well put more padding on the firewall while at it to keep the engine noise down.

I'm located in sw houston. Based of the previous post it dose not seem to bad of a job. The good thig about it is when I do the dash I am also replacing the front body harness which I believe connects behind the dash also a front mount and r1 oil coolers it will be one big project

The RX7 has never been accused of having a small project, when upgrading/modifying/repairing anything.
LOL

If your going to remove the dash, that would be the time to install new carpet if you needed it and to wire up gauges to the center speaker/A-pillar, stero install, LED lighting upgrade in instrument cluster/panels, refinish the meter hood, gauge surround, AC panel and shifter panel while you have everything out.

Aftermarket carpet replacement is available from Tfent (?). They are on the forum. There are many posts about redoing interior plastic panels and gauge wiring.

I have new carpet already installed but I was thinking of installing dynamate and a heat barrier to help with the heat and noise.

Started the dash removal carnage. You would not believe what you can tell about the previous owners when you start pulling major components out of the car.
