Cool 4-29-06 {Austin} Meet/Drive to weekly car show at 1431/home-depot

Hey all,

this weekend is the one of the premier drives of the year for the TexasRxs club where everyone heads out to the Hill Country and Willow Springs and the bluebonnets are peaking etc.........But because of that there's nothing planned for the weekend of the 29th!

We've tried this before with some mild success so I figured why not try it again:

where: Schlotsky's parking lot 183 and Balcones (lots of space to meet and grab a drink, shoot the sh** before leaving etc.)

when: I'm saying meet at 5:00pm, leave at 5:30pm, should put us there about 6-ish which is right before things start getting really packed.

what: show up at the weekly hang out down on Parmer/1431 at the Home Depot and check out all the cars, grab some whataburger or whatever, it's a pretty low key gig, just a huge weekly gathering of cars from all the surrounding areas (Round Rock, Georgetown, Leander, Cedar Park, Lake Travis etc etc.) It runs to about 9:30 or so then people start clearing out. Most weekends there's a mild turn out of rotaries, sure would be nice if we could get a whole mess of Wankels amidst all the turbos, monster V8s, posers (lol) etc...

If you need directions just let me know. Thanks and hope to see you there!

I got hit from behind today, messed up the car pretty good, won't be going on any shows or anything for a while now, anyone interested is still welcome to follow my agenda, but I won't be there for a while

well it doesn't have to be off, I just won't be able to participate with my car. If people really are interested in going/gathering etc. I'm not skeered to show up in a rent a beast by any means

to top things off I got hail damage today too, later on in the afternoon we got hit and my car has several nice sized dings from it, worst day evah for my poor car the guy who caused it all didn't even mention the other 3 cars to his insurance agent, so now there is all this confusion around who caused what and etc etc either way I'm fixing to have to spend a ton of money for 2 things that are not my fault, and that reallllly realllly sucks.

Sucks to hear man. I saw you pulled over on the side of the road on Mopac at about 8:30 in the morning on the way to work. I was in the silver FD in the slow lane entering Mopac at the 360/Mopac North onramp. I knew it was your car when I saw the chrome Kazeras and when I saw a couple other people pulled over I thought to my self "damn, must've been a wreck".

dang, an FD drove by and i missed it, I must have been traumatized from the wreck lol
I saw homedude's skid marks this morning, look to be a good 10 feet long or so, and the punkass didn't even mention a ton of stuff to the insurance agent. It's all good though, I took a MS cert exam today and despite everything that happened yesterday I almost got a perfect score on it so I'm alright. I also picked up Tourist Trophy today for the PS2, awesome game from the GT4 guys, same depth, there's like over a 100 bikes, 35 courses, same license tests and all that, it's been fun lol

I'll show up Saturday, AT SCHLOTSKY'S

This seems to be my lucky year. My car went through 3 rounds of hail, and it looks fine. It was dime-sized hail, though.

I got the car dropped off today, went really well and I'm very happy with the shop. I have a ford exploder rent a car so if anyone wants to show up Saturday I'm down, just will have to park at 1431 away from everyone lol

well, I guess no one showed up. I forgot about the meeting time, but I went there at around 6. Not too many "unique" cars. Lots of the usual stangs, vetters, and camaros.

I liked these two:

I didn't make it at all, got to thinking about it and seeing all the cars would have just bummed me out/pissed me off which would have made me absolutely no fun to be around. I also heard there were dumbasses out there doing burnouts, looks like the spotkillers are out to ruin this one, f-in tards. nice pics btw, thanks for sharing, will you be at Rudy's Wednesday night? We have our monthly meeting and I'll definitely be there for that

I didn't know about the 'tards. I got bored around 7 and took off. But later more and more people are showing up. Home Depot kindly roped off sections of the lot so their customers wouldn't be lost amongst mustangs.

I'll be there wednesday.
