What suspension setup ya runnin?

 

What size rim is that on?

 

It's your tires -- ES100 are a budget performance tire. You need to step up to a better tire...

 

Also, when tire shops mount your tires, they run a slightly higher tire pressure to "stretch" out the tire. It's a good idea to lwer your tire pressure shortly after having the tires mounted.

 

18x10 +50 offset

So is it my gears that is destroying my traction....because just the same, I am running the S02PP's on my 18x10's in 285-30-18 trim....using the TEIN Flex suspension, full uerethane bushing kit, trailing arms, etc....and I spin like I'm racing on buttered glass. This is only at 12psi which was 350rwhp.

 

Try a 275/35/18 on that wheel. 285/30 is an awfully tiny sidewall... a friend of mine made this switch on his 700+ hp Supra with good results... the 285/30 had no sidewall flex, and were like skateboard wheels.

Heck i'm probably making 350 to the wheels, and the 275/35'sa work great for me.

 

well, just as an update. I installed H&R springs and also deflated my tires considerably. My tire pressure was almost 40psi when I looked at the tire it was bulged in the center which pulled the edges of it off the road...Which means I was loosing about 1.5" of traction per each time....I deflated to 21psi and has a good contact patch and doesn't seem too deflated. Because of the spring install I have to go get aligned...Will do that this week and let ya know if there's much improvement.

What tire pressure are you running if you have a similar setup to mine?

 

Sounds good, I would think for day to day driving that you would want to up the pressure to make sure you don't destroy your rims. I'm interested to see what difference this makes. Also would the difference in stock suspension stiffness between the fd and fc make a difference as to why fc's seem to hook up better, from what I've read in this thread. The fc's are generally heavier in stock form, but that also depends on where the weight is on the car.

Making 400rw on the street I had spin in 1st and that was about it, once you hit second it would plant your head to the seat.

I'm running Koni yellows, H&R springs, Nitto drag radials on the stock wheel. I keep my rear tires at about 20-25psi of pressure all the time. With the same setup but on street tires and 32psi of pressure I would spin from a highway roll hahaha. Tires makes ALLLLLLL the difference in the world on a street car. If you drive a lot get some Nitto drag radials cause they last 10-15K miles. If you rarely drive get some BFG's they hook better on the street but you'll be lucky if you get 5K miles out of them. With a burnout Nittos and BFG's hook about the same.

I spin in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at any speeds in those gears during WOT. Nice warm days don't really make much of a difference. I run 275's-35-17's.

Well that and he put down 630 hp at 13.6 psi. Which i believe he has now gone with a bigger turbo since.
