That was an interesting discussion.......
Well, I wouldn't say that the car did not back up the horsepower claims because there was a problem with the car. After running only 118-119 in the 1/4, we pulled off the wastegate to check the spring because the boost curve was too progressive. It turns out the nut that holds the HKS wastegate valve to the diaphragm had loosened itself so when we removed the wastegate from the exhaust manifold, the wastegate valve itself dropped to the floor. That was the first time we've ever had a problem with an HKS gate so I'm sure it was just a fluke.
After replacing the nut and reassembling the wastegate, the boost was back to the way it should be and it made more power and torque at much earlier rpms. The car hasn't had a chance to get back to the track though. The owner of the car, Pete, just finished an NHRA roll bar, put to kill switch on, and all that NHRA required stuff. The fuel system just got redone and we plan on tuning with some C-12 or C-16. We'll get some runs in soon.

I haven't visited here in a long while, but the forum is always nice to check out. I've been out of the country and when I got back I was working on some of the new Honda engines (RSX & S2000). I hate to say it, but these engines KICK ***!
