Xs Engineering Turbos...how Are They?

XS ENGINEERING TURBOS...HOW ARE THEY? I JUST PURCHASED A FULL TURBO KIT OFF OF EBAY FOR $1000. IT'S AN XS ENGINEERING T04X ceramic ball bearing turbo with a polished housing. The manifold is an RE Amemiya stainless steel with 60mm piping and a 60mm hks racegate with the return routed back into the down pipe which has 3inch mandrel bent tubing. thats what the auction stated.

So if anyone knows anything about these turbos, id appreciate all the info i can get.

i think im going to change the down pipe though. i have to see it in person and then decide.

i never had any experience with their turbo but i havent heard anything bad about it, so i guess its pretty good. i know that xs uses garret parts to make their turbos. if i cant get the hks t04z turbo i will for sure go with their t04s turbo.

Is this an XS Engineering kit, or an XS Power kit? Big difference....XS Power = SS Autochrome = absolute ****.

That looks nothing like the XS-Engineering kit, that looks like the XS Power kit, in which case you can read the forum for comments about the "XS Power" kit. XS-Engineering uses a cast manifold, and the turbo doesn't have that odd hose coming out of it.

Yeah, by redoing everything....those XS Power kits are absolute ****, do some research on SS Autochrome and (hopefully) you'll change your mind.

You would be much better off just buying a quality used kit from a real shop than trying to fix that crap.

turbo xs makes alot of turbo kits for hondas. Some of my friends have run them and they seem to be a middle of the road turbo.(not crap, but not awsome either.) But that kit doesnt look like a mass marketed kit. it looks custom. Just take a look at the down pipe it has more bends in it than my whole exhaust system.

It looks like an XS turbo, but the rest of the kit is definitely custom/aftermarket.

Like I said, the turbo itself is, but the kit certainly isn't....that's a pieced together setup.

The wastegate is a 52mm HKS style. The 60mm is totally different and uses v clamps.
