WTf.. 2k miles and the turbo is eating itself
Long story short, im replacing my homedepot couplers with real couples on my intercooler piping, the last coupler i pulled had some silver filings sitting in it.
So i pull my filter off the turbo to see whats up, there is axial play, not alot, it doesnt look like anything hits, however this is a brand new turbo and there is shaftplay
cheapturbo.com has 30day manufacture defect warrenty. im out of that, am i sceweed into paying for thismyself?
turbo is a t04s, wet chra .7 / 1.0 on a 13b-re

I would ask myself some questions before getting to upset. Take the cover off and inspect.Blades have any deformaties or chips? With metal it would seem that much play would also allow oil bypass due to flex. I have had a TO4 scrape the comp housing and it bent and chipped the blades and scratched the housing a little bit. I did hear it screech that one tiime.Just some thoughts .....one of the shops who have seen it all will probably respond with answer you need.
By the way....I have the TO4R version.Same company.
