will these parts from my Honda turbo setup work on single FD/FC?

Wassup guys,

I have some parts left over from my last turbo project which was Honda CRX with a fully built GSR motor. The CRX got totalled in the floods that hit NorCal so now I have some turbo parts that I want to try and use. My main concern is if the hot side of the turbo will work with a FD or FC. I want to know if the turbine size is going to be too small, or if it will still spool without too much lag. Also I have a Precision 600HP IC (used to be AS1025, now p/n PIN 053-1010), and I want to know if this will fit or if it is too wide, too tall or too deep. The rest of the parts are universal, so I'm guessing they'll work ok. About the only thing missing is an FC/FD turbo manifold with a T3 flange that will work with my WG.

Anyhoo, here are the parts I have:

-Precision SC6152S 0.70ar cold/0.63ar hot
S-comp cover, 5-bolt T350 turbine hsg, stg 3 wheel, trbo is brand new, 0 miles

-Precision 600HP IC
31 1/2" L x 8" H x 3 1/2" D and 2.5" ID inlet/outlet

-Turbosmart Ultragate 38mm (low profile)

-Vortech Maxflow BOV

-Innovate LM1 WBO2 setup

-Apexi AVCR
got it for the gear based boost control, but might sell it for something else, what do you guys think?

-RC eng 750cc saturated injectors for Acura Integra
pretty sure these wont work

-Aeromotive remote/bypass FPR p/n 13109

so what do you guys say? will the turbo and IC be useable on a FD/FC single turbo setup? what about all the other little stuff?

Thanks

dang, that's what I was afraid of. Well the turbo is brand new, and I bought it for $740 shipped. So I could probably sell it for $600-$700, and just buy another turbo. I guess straight T4's are preferred over T3/T4 hybrids for turbo rotaries? I looked at some of the kits in the rx7store and T4 turbos with 1.00a/r's seem to be the norm.

Yeah, that turbo would be too small. There are people who use T3 hotside turbos on rotaries, and they work great! But you are also going to limit yourself on what kind of horsepower you will be able to put down. A GT35R or Apex'i RX-6 are both T3 hotside turbos and are still capable of great performance. But the one you have is way too small. Just my .02 I'm sure that one of the vendors that frequent this section will hop in here soon.

That turbine is very small for a rotary. T3 is not the concern, as many RX-7s use a T3 hotside, but the .63A/R is going to restrict the motor on the topend, possibly even more than the stock twins.
The IC should work but is not a commonly used shape for the FD - may be too long.
And the injectors won't work without a lot of wasted time/money customizing a fuel system to run them.
The rest of the stuff should work if you want to piece together a kit.

IIRC to go from a 0.63 to a 0.82 a/r turbine you would just need to switch the turbing housing, and not the fan. I wonder if Precision has a T3 hsg which with a 1.xx a/r. But what do you guys think about a 0.82 a/r T3 turbine or a 1.xx a/r T3 turbine (if they have those)? I guess I'll e-mail Rod Short and see what turbine hsg options I have. For the IC, I guess I could just sell it off. I bought it for $250 used and I can probably sell it for the same amount.

If you guys think the 0.82 or 1.xx a/r T3 turbines will stil be too small, I might just think about selling all the stuff and use the money towards a kit from rx7store.net.

thanks for the inputs guys. It seem like the only things worth keeping are the AVCR, LM1 WB, and the Vortech BOV. However I might sell the Vortech BOV for a TIAL BOV which I've been meaning to do anyways.

I love my Tial BOV and wouldn't think of using anything else. But that's just me I guess.
