will single turbo setups for FD fit an FC?

I would like to get some more power out of my car and I started looking at turbo kits. It seems all the high power kits are made for the FD, I saw one HKS kit that looked pretty good. So will the Greddy T-78/T-88 kit Fit the FC? The only thing that I see that might not fit would be the intercooler pipes.

You have three problems when getting a FD designed turbo kit for the FC.

First is the manifold the Manifolds for FC and FD are designed differntley basically because of the shock towers and such to keep the turbine from hitting the body. Look at them closely not all are made the same and some will interchange.

Second is the intercooler pipes because Stock the intercoolers are in different places. And even adding a front mount the path for the FC will be different from the FD. Probably be better to get a kit for the FC and adjust it as need to to match turbine outlet and so on.

Three. FD's have more fuel and larger ports in stock form Some large turbo's that work OK on a stock 13bREW will not work well on a stock 13B. For example the T78/88 Idon't think it would ever spool on a S4 FC and if it did then it would run out of fuel quickly and self destruct. Now if you have ported your motor and installed larger injectors or sub injectors..... then thats a different ball game.

I know there are people making FC manifolds with t3/t4 flanges.......get that and find a good turbine that is sized right and you will be happier than digging through kits that are made for the FD.

yeah the motor has an extreme streetport in it, i'll probably try www.cheapturbo.com for the turbo and god only knows where I could find the right manifold

Most FD kits will have the turbo contact the lower intake manifold on the FC, since the FD lower intake manifold hugs the engine closer.

If you have an FC, your two options are...
HKS collected - cheap at under $300
HKS divided - expensive priced at $700
Both are cast units and will NEVER crack, unlike some of the crappy tube manifolds being sold out there.
