Question Wich turbo kitis best for everyday driving

I'm getting a single turbo kit but not sure with one. Greddy TD06 or XS-Engineering T04E.

Go with the XS TO4E, it's very streetable with a quick spool, and it's also rebuildable. There's no waiting for a new turbo to come in from japan and no down time like that of an apex kit.

How is the T04E compared to the T04S in terms of spool up and rwhp at 10psi? 12psi? 15psi? Thanks.

Evil, the to4s will give you more top end juice because the inlet is 4 inches and the to4e will give you better spool and mid range power because the inlet is something like 2.5 inches. The "E" is for the street and the "S" is for the strip.

Check their site and the dyno chart for both kits. See the torque and power curves.

I choose the T04e kit for those reasons. I drive 100% on the street. Nothing at the strip.

It's 3" not 2.5", I have one.

When I talked to XS they said I could effectively run 25psi boost with the right tuning and fuel.

I plan on doing that this summer with 110 octane fuel and water injection.

Doesn't the rx6 kit and the xs to4e have the same hp out put with similar boost and mods?

The TO4S through XS is a 60-1 wheel in a TO4E body i believe.. The inlet size doesn't make that large of a difference, the wheel is the big difference.

It is a great turbo for the street too IMO.. But definatly more top end.

If you want a ball bearing turbo i would say Apexi RX6 for great spoolup and GT35/40 for top end

Probably the same with the TO4E and TO4S...

EDIT: i have heard the GT35/40 gets full boost ~3800rpms where the RX6 gets it below 3000rpms. But depending on porting and such that changes.

So are the myths true about not being able to rebuild a ball bearing turbo?

Yes and no.. In japan they can be rebuilt.. in the US they can be repaired sometimes.. either that or you buy a new center cartrige..

From what i have seen yes.. Someone here on the board had their RX6 repaired.. But if it needs a new wheel i think you are gonna have to get a new center cartrige.. Which is $$$.

dougie i wish i had the rx6b...but i dont know how to confirm that its a b.....i have talked to a couple of people and they say my car makes boost way to soon to be the big turbo....i can telll you this though. my kit is one of the first kits that apex came out with. my turbo looks nothing like maxcoopers setup....sits in a totally dif spot. it makes nice power at 13psi though...enough to peel out at 70 mph :p

its not impossible to get it repaired its just going to be money and alot of time to get the parts.....which is prob why most people just buy a new turbo...
