i lost to a 600cc Suzuki GSXR, but still at low speeds, might could've taken him up top, but i had a good bit of ground to make up. And that was from a first and second gear roll, from a dead dig, against a good rider, i wouldn't bet much on any FD in the 1/4, except maybe steve kan's, On an infinite stretch of road, or starting at 60+ mph roll, the odds are a lot better. With bikes a lot depends on the rider. A good rider on any decent size sport bike (600cc+) you're gonna have a lot of trouble unless you're in the 400+rwhp range.

I;ve beaten 600 and 750's before from stop lights, but they couldn't ride, one guy almost ran into the side of me, and then there was the time i broke the tires loose in first, started fish tailing and scared the **** out of the bike that was right next to me.

most bike ryders dont hit nines in their street bilkes. Only modded 900s, busas, and 12rs run 9s with experienced ryders on them

I lost to a 2002 CBR929 Erion Racing Edition by 6 cars or so in a 1/4 mile race. I pulled him through 1st and then he started gaining in 2nd and I was passed by 3rd and lost by 6 in the end. I have a video if I could figure out how to host it. Anyone? The next race he has a better launch and I lost by 8-9 cars. So go figure. He did not pull on me in the top end though but I was so far behind that it would have taken another mile or so to catch up, if I could. There mid range power is retardedly fast. Good luck everyone.

you need to roll a bike from about 70 mph on up to win....remember, THEY have the power to weight advantage this time, but the aerodynamics of most bikes is poor, so from high speed the limited hp can't make up the gap

I stayed right with my buddy's modded R1 in 3rd to 4th, and I have the stock twins!

from a stop, forget it, unless the rider sucks

The only car I've ever had a problem with is a blown chevelle. I still won, but I was amazed at his ability to keep up. You have to remember that most motorcycle riders are like most 7 owners... they can't use what they have. Besides the twisties are more fun than the straight line, anyways.

chevelle, shmabelle....you can't even beat a 750 on that big 998cc v-twin. the ONLY thing that was ever fast that had RC in the name was an associated RC-10.

most riders are afraid to ride their bikes to their full potential but, 1000cc bikes mostly have a LOT of middle to upperrange, in my experience once you get over 120 or so there is not nearly as much power as there is when you are moving at 40-90.

so long story short. take them for a top end ride

You got to remeber that when you are riding om a bike a you dont know the guy you are racing so you dont know what he might do like spin the tires and fish tail. and b is that i have very little fears and me riding one a gsxr 750 i am scarded **** less when when speed go over 100. So most bikers i think dont want to ******* stop on it all up high. Just thought i would point that out. Thanks Marc

When my car was running, I toyed with a few bikes (even my own!).

I also own a 600cc CBR F2, and had my buddy ride it. From a stop, he took me pretty good. Its too hard to play "catch-up" at that point, unless you get an awesome launch (which is near impossible on the dirty street with street tires).

From a roll, its completly different. Many people can't comprehend the dynamics of air flow, power, and weight when talking about a 65mph + launch. Sometimes ignorance gives people foundation to argue.

Now, I have "played" with one GSX-R 750 from a 75+ punch, and we were even. We didn't take it up too high (about 120), so I don't know at what point (if any) I would pull away.

But, my car is not the fastest out there. Soon enough, it will be.

Before this thread turns into one of those "No way a car can beat a bike" type, give it a shot yourself first. I am sure everyone will come to an agreement on a few things:

1) Very few vehicles (cars) will win a street race from a stop.
2) An average amount of vehicles (cars) will win a street race from a higher-speed run ... assuming the match-up was fair.

Mike

Anybody want to try to beat my nephew in a 1/4 mile race, I'll bet them $2,000 they can't. Come on up and try, you'll lose $2,000.

Busa does 9.2 and 155mph, has the time slips to prove it. Since his 9.2 he has added NOS.

hmmmmm. maybe someone should contact ari, adam, and last but not least, abel since we're talking 1/4 mile now. i'm sure they might be game for a nice 2g wager. doesn't matter what kinda chassis the rotary comes in right?? 1300cc's vs. 1300cc's. seems fair even though a bike has the better to weight ratio don' t you think?

nobody is going to get a busa off the line.. thats plain common sence. I was thinking more like a 60-80 mph roll.
