Well I know LUPE runs it.. there is another guy from the UK that runs it also.
I am referring to the T51r KAI (non ball bearing, NOT SPL)
I am going to throw the kit on sooner or later, but I wanted to compare it to my current setup.
I plan on doing 21psi on pump/methanol - and more with C16... for the mostpart it'll be 21 w/pump & meth.
I was curious as to the spool time, and power at that boost level?
I am guessing 5400 RPM - 21psi - 510hp?
I have a medium size streetport.. but going larger in the future.
1.) Spool time for boost ranges? (15psi, 20psi, 25psi?)
2.) Power at boost level, and size of your porting?
3.) WTF is the kit so expensive, is it because it says HKS?
4.) Does the V-Band mani make much difference as far as turbine flow is concerned?
THanks!

I have an extended street port, very large exhaust ports, i've gone up quite a bit so have a lot of overlap there. I had 478 rwhp at 1.2 bar without water injection & running rich when roughly tuned on the dyno.
The next time I went to the dyno, I was losing mixture out of the secondary injector hole in the lower intake manifold, so dyno run was aborted at 6,500 rpm as I was losing lots of power & the mixture which was leaking was spraying in the direction of the turbo.
I have attached dyno sheet when I had injector sealing issue. The red line is a run at .9bar 338 bhp and the green line is at 1.4bar 484bhp this is fwhp
You see at 1.4 bar I am on full boost at 5,000rpm. These runs were again without water injection. I am pretty sure that when I get back on the dyno to tweak full boost at 1.4 bar will be below 5,000 rpm. These were 3rd gear pulls if it makes any difference.
I have sorted my injector sealing issue and now run 1.4 bar on pump fuel and water injection. This was mapped on the road so don't know exact power.
It's expensive because it says HKS yes, but it is also a very well designed kit.
I don't know if the vband makes much difference for flow but it certainly makes it a lot easier for removing.

484fwhp (flywheel horse power) in 3rd gear would covert to rougly 572whp.
I believe that is correct.... since 3rd gear's ratio is 1.391.
I could be doing the math totally wrong, but thats what I came up with.
If you were only getting 350hp at 21psi then something would be seriously wrong.
Lupe obtained 523hp (or something close) at 23psi on C16.
All I did was take 484fwhp X gear ratio (1.391) = 673, then 673 X (% Drivetrain power 15% loss, so 85% power) = 673 x .85 = 572hp.
Then again, I'm probably just being stupid. It's 5am.. and I am rambling. Anyway, thanks for the post! Keep'm coming!

484 fwhp = around 400rwhp, regardless of gear. Horspower is based on torque and engine RPM, gear is not a factor. Although, some say you get higher HP ratings w/ longer gears due to more load being put on the motor.

Here is the sheet of one of my runs when I had 470rwhp 554fwhp @1.2bar
At 6,000rpm I only had about 425fwhp, my max power is at 7600rpm 554fwhp
From 6,000rpm to 7,600 rpm I gain 130bhp.
Comparing the two dynos had I not had injector sealing issues I would easily of exceeded 500rwhp at 1.4 bar, probably would of been about 530rwhp.
I don't think you will find the turbo that laggy with a good tune.
As you can see on the first dyno sheet I post at 4,00rpm it starts waking up
at 4,500 it starts to pull hard, at 5,000 rpm it's on full song.
When you getting yours installed & tuned ?
