Where to Now?
Hi Guys,
I have been following the forum for a while but rarely get a chance to post. Have had my fd for a couple of years and in the quest for more power I am now stuck what I can do to get more power out of my 13B. My current spec is as follows and would really appreciated input from you experienced guys out there.
13B OEM Stock Engine, Stock Ports
Blitz K27 Turbo
Greddy FMIC
Koyo Rad
Stock 660cc Pri's Sec 850cc
Additional 650cc injectors x 4 (welded through top of plenum).
Bosch 040 internal fuel pump
Water Injection (running on water only - no meth).
HKS Twin Power Ignition Module
Running NGK 10.5
Full Titanium Free Flowing Exhaust
I think thats about it.
Currently my car is making 402 at the wheels at 1.3 bar - 19 psi. And hitting full boost at circa 4000 rpm. I think I have a lot of fuelling as the injector duty is only 76%. My ECU is apexi power fc.
I am now stuck where I can go with getting more power out of this thing. Are the stock ports limited to a certain power?
Look forward to thoughs and please ask me anything if it will help in giving a fuller answer.

What would I need to change to run over 1.3 bar boost.
Map sensor, anything else? Also, how much boost is the 13b block good for?
Lastly, do stock ports max out on power at a certain level?

I think people have gotten to about 500 hp with t78's. You need some higher octane fuel or straight meth injection will get you to about 25 psi. Porting the motor would help a lot, but you can pry do that soon.

Personally, I wouldnt run more than your current 19 psi on pump fuel (91 octane for you?) and water injection. Hell, I would only run 17 psi or so, esp on 91 (I'm assuming 91 based on your location).
You'll definitely want to port the motor in the future, but it's silly to remove it just for that. Wait until you need a rebuild.
You'll probably want a bigger, better flowing turbo. I'm very happy with my 500R, you can see dyno results at the bottom of this thread (not my dyno #s):

If noise isn't a huge concern, look into bigger exhaust piping, which should net you quicker spool/better top end:
