Where do I get AF61R Turbo?

What the title says.

I have tried calling the number for D-R Autosports but it said it had been disconnected. Where can I purchase an AF61R?

D&R no longer exists. Read this thread and I think you might see why.
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=529535

The only way to get an "AF61R" would be to buy one second hand now I guess.. There are other turbo options that are quite comparable to the AF61R if not better. Since you are around Chicago I suggest you check out A-Spec Tuning(they have a vender section on this forum). I'm sure they can offer you something.

The thing that was attractive was the price, was there anything done to the s300 to make it an "AF61R"?

Can I buy an s300?

yeah, something was done, all right....the guys at D-R simply lied about what that turbo was!!! That's what made it the AF61R. They claimed that it was a custom-designed turbo, but in reality it is 100% off-the-shelf. They didnt even grind off the castings on the housings that said what the turbo really is!

I am sure that the turbo did put out boost, but like someone else said there are probably other options that will work as well or better. I wouldnt send that guy a nickel for a stick of gum, based on his history in this forum. he has changed the name of his business I cant even remember how many times because he always screws people over. the latest guy to get screwed is getting reamed to the tune of over $30K--no joke.

I read it, and I am not interested in giving him any money either, I may never see it again. However, the AF61R, be it from a tractor or a spaceship, made good numbers from what I saw and was very comparable to the GT35R. If I can pick one up for half the price or less than a GT35R, why not? Am I wrong about this?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I am under the impression that I just buy this s300 turbo, and that is the "AF61R".

If anyone else has any other turbo suggestions that would be comparable to the GT35R (minus the price),I would love to hear them. (I need a T4 turbo.)

Also, where might I pick up an S300? Is it not a good turbo for the price?

Well, an s300 is a borg warner turbo. Find out who sells borg warner turbos, and get a price quote. I don't see what the problem is

You could always just go with a TO4S or TO4R.

The problem is the insane mark up you'll find on the s300 series turbos. I specedf out my af61r to a guy who sells bw/schwitzer, he charges $1400 for the same turbo ron sold for $750

They are not $1400 whoever told that to you wanted $$$ The bigger problem is the parts on your AF61R are getting hard to come by that is why it was getting hard for him to fill orders. I'm not totally positive but I bet if I checked I can get most S300 varients out for low- mid 8's that's a good workable turbo, not some god knows what of ebay. I'll check, If I find something worthwhile I'll put it up in my section.

They are not a bad midsized turbo, a lot of it has to do with what S300 you get. There is enough range in the 300 line that you can get a 450hp turbo or a 800hp turbo.
