Whats your Spool time?

This would be an awsome addition to the sticky single turbo thread.
Id like to get an idea of what your spool time is and what turbo.
For example TO4E starts spooling at 2,100 Full boost by 4,600.
Id especially love to hear from you guys with T51s and the like.

TO4R

Starts winding up about 2800-3000

Full roar at about 3800-4K

Port size will have a bit to do with the end results though. I have a big streetport and the hotside is .96

starts spooling around 3200 and gets full spool right around 5000.

for a turbo this big, it really isn't as laggy as i thought it would be.

T66 1.0 p-trim from Innovative on an HKS cast mani and street ported motor ...

Latest datalog in 4th gear (3rd gear) at 90 degF ambient temps:
positive boost by 2100 rpm
5 psi by 2830 rpm (3230)
10 psi by 3250 rpm (3690)
15 psi by 3570 rpm (4050)
18 psi by 3830 rpm (4350)

Always thought my single turbo was responsive but the above did surprise me as I typed it.

Spools like a GT35R with a Race port.

T78 with atkins street port

i get positive manifold pressure as soon as i hit the gas. i rarely drive under 2k, so i'd say that's a good point to start. i hit 10psi at 3200ish and 16psi at 4000. of course, this is in 4th gear and you really don't feel anything until around 4800

To4B 60-1 .96A/R .70 trim 4"inlet

Full boost by 5500rpm 15psi.

lags like crazy. 3500rpm only 2psi.

A month or diagnostics has not changed anything.

Nice to see some of you guys hit full boost at 3500rpm. That is my goal

No change.

Was at the lights and went to hammer it on a grandam

Car did nothing till 5700rpm and then went side ways. Its really annoying. I not even close to being happy. Car is still fun to drive but acts like an N/A.

So far not even close to being worth the money. Happier with my modified stock setup last year.

Did some testing tonight. 4th gear, 2500 rpm:
Positive pressure: instantly (so faster than Ian)
10 psi: 3600 rpm (faster than Ian)
17 psi 4400 rpm (faster than Ian)

S5 13BT with SR Motorsports KKK Stage 1 turbo

Innovative Turbo Systems T72, "Q" Trim, 1.32 AR, Dual Ballbearing. I was able to build 14 psi by 2800 rpms, and I recall when we were on the dyno I was able to build 25 psi by 3k ish rpms.

In the next few weeks I will reply back in here with the results of the T76 turbo now.

ebay exhaust manifold
tial 46mm wastegate tied back in.
stock port
greddy 2 row IC
3 inch straight exhaust till stock cat-back. I know...I know...
t04s with .84 divided hot side
All of the above components in a system need to be considered when considering spool.

9psi by 2900-3100 rpm. Thats all the boost Ive been running it on. But its pulling hard by that time. At the rate of boost climb, I would expect 15 psi should be reached by 3300-3400 rpm. Obviously the turbo/system was chosen for quick spool and as much torque as possible.

My t04S is similar to above, but I don't hit the boost too hard in first and second because with plain old Proxes t1-s (even 9.5 265 rears) you just spin tires, so I go boost in between 2k and 2400 and climb to 16 by 4k to 4.4k. Some items that will affect spool time include your wastegate spring and your method of boost control. I have to set my old controller to open a bit sooner or it will get overwhelmed by the T04s and spike. When it goes out of adjustment I've seen 20 lbs by 4.4k (where I have my map tuned to go dead rich to the point of stumble, so I don't overboost on 91 gas).

Mild street porting, btw. What a great blend of power and response. Very happy with the to4S as a good street turbo.

I have serious issues then! The T04S is supposed to be like the T04B!

Motor is ported with 1993 rotors.
