What options will make a turbo spool faster

like:
1)a/r
2)trim
3)dual BB
4)v-band discharge
5)manifold runner length

do any of these affect spooling???

 

Almost all of them!

A/R - in general the smaller the A/R on the turbine side the quicker it will spool. It may also hurt outright power though

Trim - Will have a small effect on spool time

Dual BB - True Dual Ball Bearing Cartridge will have a significant effect on reducing spool up (ala GT3540)

V-Band - ?? not sure what you mean, but a big free flowing exhaust will assist in spool times

Manifold runner length - Will also have an effect on spool times (as will manifold runner sizing)

I don't have any direct experience with this, but I have also heard it said that a divided housing (and accompanying manifold) will improve spool-up.

Two more you probably didn't think of.....
1. wastegate spring
2. electonic boost controler

 

can somebody explain to me these 5 options??? I know what 3 is but the other im not sure about. If you have a 3inch dp and the turbine is a 2 3/4 would this be hp decrease??? Is the exhuast housing the same thing as a turbine??? I need toknow this stuff so I will know what im talk about when people ask me about my car.

 

does anybody know what to do to a greddy t-78 to make it spool faster???

 

A 25 - 50 shot in first gear will get the car to spool quite nicely

if i was rich i would use that rally anty lag system it makes an explotino in the turbine housing but this
***** up the turbo=$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

 

Smaller exhaust runners will increase the exhaust gas velocity, shortening spool-up, but later on in the rpm's, it will constrict flow, decreasing top-end.
