What involved in going Single Turbo??

I thought I was gonna be almost done performance
modding my FD3S. See Mods below.. Other
than Turbo upgrade/portjob/and ignition and injectors.
I would be done.. BUT it seems to be ONE of the
BIG or BIGGER Dogs you have to be Single TURBO.

To go single turbo, what is involved??? Correct me if I
am wrong:

A Single turbo Kit.
New Downpipe
New IC
and Injectors.
PFC ok with singles "right"?
When you do go single.
Do you need New rearend and build Tranny??

Is there something I am missing?? other than the Labor
and good tune???
As far as the RATS NEST. IT would be all gone right??
and would be Run like a NON Sequential vacuum setup??

Thanks..

PS. is there such a thing as BEING Finished Moding
your a FD3S?? so much stuff.. Still got body work
and interior i want do..

I'd put a bigger (or twin) fuel pump on that list... and I'd ditch the PFC. I'd go Haltech if I were you. I think you might want to add a higher juice ignition too... bt not completely necessary. Don't forget the little stuff like BOV, FPR, etc.

Good luck!

Damn!! NOW you post your mods! hahaha

Looks like you already have most of the stuff... but I still think the PFC will limit you.

ErnieT and I think some others don't like the PFC for single turbos, something to do with timing parameters I think. Not sure though. I personally would go haltech.

I think your rear end and tranny(you do have a 5spd right?) should be fine unless you plan on going way up in horsepower, you might want to consider a LSD though.

Some single turbo kits come with a downpipe and some don't. You will need all the rest of the stuff like injectors, maybe an intercooler because I am not sure if you are still on the stock one or not, and you forgot to add a bigger fuel pump.

Alot of what you "need" depends on what horsepower range you're shooting for.

Your NipponDenso pump will flow 400 hp at the wheels no problem. Dragon tested mine when he Dyno'd his car and it had no problems at 400 hp...now when he went to 420...it couldn't keep up. This was all done with a PFC.

This is what I have pieced together to make my single turbo "kit".

Turbo(whatever size suites your HP needs. For me, it's a 60-1 wheel .50 compressor .84 hotside)
Manifold
Wastegate
Oil feed line
Oil Return line
2 water block off plugs
1 oil block off plate
1600cc X 2 Injectors w/ rail
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Piping to Fab a downpipe
All necessary Flanges/Gaskets
Clutch
Diff
Tires

With the PFC, the rats nest is GONE so yes, your vacuum hoses will be run similar to a non-sequential car.

Good luck!

Remember, if you go with a Haltech, you lose the stock FD oil metering pump & have to add oil to the fuel at each fill up if it's a streetcar. Some people have found a way to convert a mechanical OMP to the FD, or if you're not planning to heavily modify the car & only runnung pump gas boost levels, the PFC will be fine.
