Question what do you guys think of this turbo?

I really want to get a bigger turbo for my 87 t2 and i was looking at this turbo http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/gatot96ar.html I wanted to know what you guys thought about it? Or if you think there is somthing better i should go with. Thanks for your help

My motor is a 88 with 3mm apex seals and a street port

A great turbo, good for 400rwhp properly tuned. You need at the minimum, a FMIC, upgraded ignition, upgraded fuel, and a stand alone(E6K, TEC, Microtech) to control it all, plus you will need someone to tune it. You could use piggy backs, but they will cost as much as a stand alone, and leave ALOT of reliability, and power on the table. Carl Byck

thanks for the reply, for fuel i have a microtech LTX8 (stilll in the box) i have a supra fuel pump and was thinking of going with 4x1000. I also have a FMIC but do u think the injectors are going to be enough? thanks

Depending on the resolution of the Microtech, I would use 1600 secondaries, and you could use 850 primaries. I believe the microtech will have no problem controlling those injectors, the real concern for driveability and fuel economy is the primaries(vs resolution of the controller). Max cooper has a good fuel calculator on his site. As a rule 85% duty cycle will give you a good cushion. Carl
