What BOV should I use with RX6 kit?

The A'PEXi RX-6 turbo kit does not come with a blow-off valve, and I am looking for feedback on what works in this area. I don't care about the sound at all (my only general preference is that quieter is better), and I will probably be running 15 psi, perhaps 12 psi for road racing and maybe as much as 18 psi if I go drag racing or want some bigger dyno numbers.

OPTION 1: No BOV
My understanding is that the turbo is tough enough to be used without a BOV, and that is why one was not included in the kit. Is this true? Is there a performance benefit from adding a BOV, like faster boost recovery between shifts?

OPTION 2: Stock BOV
I was considering having a big nipple welded to one of the pipes and plumbing the stock BOV on there.

OPTION 3: Aftermarket BOV
What BOV would be a good match for my needs? I am not running that much boost and don't care about sound. Cheap is good, but I don't want it leaking. A'PEXi, HKS, GReddy, Blitz, Tial -- what do you recommend?

Thanks,
-Max

Get the greddy Type-R BOV

One of the best BOV you can get, this BOV offered by Greddy is for racing also so it will works great at high boost and you can adjust the sounds, I have the Greddy Type-R BOV with the T-78 works good and sounds good it is not too loud campares to the Blitz, HKS or the Apexi. Or you can go with the HKS SSBOV. Notes don't get the Greddy Type-S BOV.

Greddy is crap.. Don't waste your money... What i would recommend is the Tial Bov.. Tial is used exclusively in CART and is of the highest quality.. You should see there wastegate's too...
My friend is the East Coast Dist.. (TNT Motorsports in New York)
i will get a complete price list from him and post it here... In the meantime you can email me for more info.. Enzo250@hotmail.com

option one is a bad idea

option two is a bad idea

option three is the way to go...The HKS S.S. and the Greddy Type-R will do the job

I like the H.K.S. but there good stuff is always alot of money. Greddy on the other hand is just crap... I find that Tial is the way to go.. There stuff is awesome quality and for the same amount of money you would've spent on greddy you might as well buy Tial.

Thanks for the input guys. The TiAL is at the top of my list right now because it looks no-nonsense and doesn't cost more than the GReddy type R. But I'll certainly read more opinions if you've got 'em...

I did run without a blow off valve for a while and the RX-6 can be used without one ... due to its durability.

I currently use a turbosmart / turboXS blow off valve... cheap and works as good as any out there.

Thanks everyone.

Based on your feedback and my own personal aesthetic preferences, I ordered a Tial BOV from Extreme Motorsports for $250 (best price I could find).
