wastegate questions...help please

Okay I gotta ask this question to be absolutely clear on how to set-up my wastegate.
What would happen if I ran the vac line from the wastegate directly to a vac source with no solonoid? Also what effect does backing out or tightening the center bolt on the wastegate have?
I know these are basic questions but I don't want to assume anything.

thanks
Kelvin

It's run at whatever spring setting you've got.

Also what effect does backing out or tightening the center bolt on the wastegate have?
This preloads the spring.&nbsp Each spring has a range to which you can adjust the pre-load tension to.&nbsp Loosening the bolt will loosen the pre-tension and let the spring release the wastegate at a lower boost pressure.&nbsp Crank the bolt in, and this loads the spring which causes the wastegate to release at a higher boost pressure...
