get the t04z, you can make over 500whp later and man does it spool.

would a ball bearing turbo spool up earlier? like GT35 is batter than T04Z? is i have a stock rebuilt engine ( upgraded seals but not ported), stock injector, full exhaust, 290cc fuel pump and PFC, and i am looking for a resposive turbo which will start giving at least 6psi of boost at 3000rpm in 2nd gear, which turbo setup is recommanded? i only aim for ~320WHP, planing to have HKS twinpwr installed, but prefer not to touch the injectors, fuel rail, fuel pressure and map sensor.

i saw this picture of a GT35 turbo setup and the output port of the compressor is pointing sideway, is it adjustable or else it'd be pretty hard to bend the piping at that position.

for only 320whp the stock twins will get you there without question.. i even think you can run the stock injectors at 320whp.. i dont think there maxedout till like 340 or something but thats also at 100% duty....

and yes the housing is adjustable to point anywhere in a 360 degree fashion..

As I understand it, the T04Z is full bearings. I believe thats the difference between the T04S.

TO4Z's are BB TO4R's if your only after 400whp and want the response there are better ways to go about it than a TO4Z.

thanks for all the input. so lets recap.
-a gt35r gets 400whp with minimal lag with stock ports.
-does a 44mm wastegate or 38mm work? planning to have 20psi at most.
-does my stock 550cc side injectors with 1600 top feed work for this setup?
-i have a walbro 255 pump, should i have twin pumps?
-besides injectors and pump do i have to change fuel rails, regulators, clips etc...?
-twin ignition a must at this stage?

since i am looking for a same 400WHP setup as u, these are wat i am getting:

GT35, T04S and T04Z will make 400WHP with not much lag, just needa pay attention when picking the A/R of the turbine, u can get those map online:
http://www.forcedinductions.com/13B.htm
http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...R_714568_2.htm

T04S is not twin-cooled so u may needa turbo-timed ur car, because the motor oil wont flow like coolant does after u shut off ur engine.

1600cc secondary is good enough to haddle 500HP on crank at stock fuel pressure.

it's better and easier to tune with stock fuel pressure, so dont increase it with FPR if u have a standalone and upgraded injectors.

HKS twin power is a good/cheap upgrade for IGN and it's recommanded, using MSD is alot more complicated to install and costs like double.

not needed but recommneded to get a Denso 280LPH( stock supra Denso Fuel pump part # 950-0155) fuel pump, stock RX-7 one is 240LPH, dun forget to change ur fuel filter if it's not changed ever. and dun use the walbro 255LPH, it's high-pressure and it's kinda loud.

for wastegate the bigger the better, 44+mm are good, better be safe then sorry.

if u run more then 16psi of boost u needa get a GM 3-bar map sensor.

freaky, run 400WHP on a RX-7 is not such a big deal, compare to alot of ppl here with GT40 or equal size turbo and ported engine, but just needa worry abt the heat problem for reliabilty, unless u're just useing that 400WHP for 12sec drag race or dyno showoff, otheriwse must upgrade ur cooling system.

i am going to get a t04z, trying to hit the 500whp.
Heard it spools quick enough and has nice top end power.

i am thinking about a t04r, t04z or t04s garrett, spa, or presicion turbo. I want to know about ARs. There are .63 , .70 , .83 etc......I want to make boost at 3500rpm, fast spool. Which AR do you recommend for 400whp (all supporting mods of course)?

Is it true that HKS don't make a wastegate that fits their iron cast manifold? which wastegate will fit?

Its been awhile since i started this thread. Right now i am pushing 351whp with stock turbos on a streetported and dowel engine. Mods in my signature.I realize now that i may want 450-490whp.

Turbos thinking about t04s(60-1),t04r, t04z or gt35r.Which do you recommend?
Looking for 3500k to 4000rpm full boost. A/Rs 0.96, 1.00,1.15 or higher?
Two walbro fuel pumps with rewiring.should be enough?
44mm wastegate?
stainless steel manifold and downpipe.

am i forgetting somethin?

What PSI?

Forget the GT35 and T04S for 490rwhp.

T04Z will get you there if you run high boost

GT42 will also get you there running a decent amount of boost

whatever psi that will get it there. i am thinking 20-25psi. my engine is dowel and recently rebuild with Rotary aviation classic seals so i guess it will be good for 30psi.
what would be the max hp for the t04s and gt35?
i like the t04z. good bang for buck. i know that the t78 and t88 will get me there but they are bit expensive.
i have a streetported engine. would i need to get it bridge ported or peripheal?

As far as I know, the classic seals were meant to be used for stockish boost pressure. It is the RA Super Seals that are meant for high boost.

Max HP with a GT35 with a 1.06 hotside on a streeport motor would be around 450rwhp on high boost.

Like I said, if you want that type of horsepower, forget the GT35 and T04S. They will not get you there.

If you want that amount of HP, you need to look at bigger turbos. A GT4088 will also get you there with around 20PSI and A/I.

I was told that the RA super seal were good but hard, and may cause housing scratches. My friend's FD is pushing 488whp with RA classic seals. No problem.
