V-clamps gasket?

I've inherited a custom exhaust with a 4" v-clamp connection between the downpipe and the rest of the exhaust. I've mate the connection without a gasket, since it seems that the clamps would not fit with the additional width a gasket would require.

So my question is, do v-clamps connections also require a gasket. If so, anyone have a lead on where I might be able to find a 4" one? Also, anyone know of a gasket material/sheeting that I could custom cut a gasket from that might hold up to a rotary's infernal temps?

As far as I know, they don't require a gasket
