Turbo Questions, How to read call numbers and letters
I am looking at purchasing a larger turbo for my 87 TII. I have gone through the calculations (with a T3-50), but I do not know what the numbers mean?
From some reading (and correct me if I am wrong please), the T3 is a flange style, and the 50 the trim? I am not sure how to do so. I am looking to be in the 300 to 350 hp range, and going through the calcs, the T3-50 seems to work so that I am not surging the turbo. It shows that I will have full boost of 12psi at 3500rpm and hold until 7000rpm. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

that turbine is way to small for your engine, the hotside will choke it and not allow it to rev past 6K and the compressor at the points you mark will only make about 200 on a rotary... my suggest go and read up on the post "how size matters compressor size illitertate and then do a search on piston RWHP vs Rotary RWHP "
good luck
