300 rwhp question and mods needed / TO4 question

Looking to upgrade my 91TII in the next year along with some other things to hit my goal to be in the 300-350 rwhp range.

My question is on the T04 turbos I was looking at hks website. The sport upgrade is a t04E. What does the E stand for since I have found other companys that have TO4 S,Z,R, etc. I can not find where it explains what that letter means.


With my current setup I think the T04 is what I need.

I have
30k On rebuild
HKS PFC-F-CON
HKS GCC
HKS FCD
HKS Turbo Timer
HKS intake
720cc injectors
Bonez down pipe
Bonez High flow cat
Dynomax Catback
3rd gen fuel pump
Act clutch and lightweight flywheel


For you turbo masters. Does this setup sound like I am in the right track?
Also want the HKS EVC, HKS SSQV, and to upgrade the IC from top mount to front mount.

It's a Garrett turbo model family designation.
"T04S", "T04R", and "T04Z" are exclusive HKS turbo designations.

chad, why dont you look into bryan's stage II upgrade at bnrsupercars. that turbo made 332 rwhp documented. . . evidently. if thats what youre looking for, then i think a stock upgrade might be a good investment for you.

also, you need to do some research on the pfc f-con. i cant remember if you have to have it rechipped for the to4b comp housing or not. maybe not, but im not sure at all.

next time we have a meet. . . ill run the numbers for ya. hahaha.

I will look into the pfc f-Con, and the stage II from BNR.
I was thinking about calling Jeff at Turbo Auto and see what he has to say also.

I want to crack the 300 mark but I don't want to go higher than 350.
